Hello all! I am looking for some reviews on Treasure Island. My husband and I & 2 other couples will be flying out of DFW to McCarran on July 20 and staying until July 23. We got what we think is an awesome deal & are all very excited as this is our first trip. Has anyone stayed here & what are your opinions? Thanks! wink

Howdy Neighbor,

I thnk that you made an excellent choice for a hotel. I've stayed at Treasure Island (TI) and have visited it many times.

TI is a modern megaresort in a great location. It's not the fanciest resort on the strip and it's not one of the budget hotels either. With a great center strip location, there are several other exciting resorts in easy walking distance. TI has an excellent house show, Mystere, which is a Cirque du Soleil show. It also has a quickie outdoor show on pirate ships. You will find a wide variety of shows, dining options, shopping, gambling, people watching, and other forms of excitement in and around Treasure Island.

TI was originally designed with a pirate theme to cater to children. It has since tried to re-establish itself to cater to active adults.

The hotel is a pretty large 3 wing building with elevators in the center. A room with a view of the strip is highly reccomended, especially for first timers. A room fairly close to the elevators will save you a lot of walking.

Excellent report on the TI above. In addition, there is a free tram to the Mirage. I have stayed at TI only once and the rooms reminded me of the rooms at the Mirage. You are in a great location - across the street from Fashion Mall (for shopping). also across the street from the Venetian and the tram ride to the Mirage is next door to Caesars. You should have a great time. Enjoy. smile

I also remember the blackjack dealers being very friendly and fun. Sitting here, I can't help wonder if they'er using the same chips at the tables, now that the new name is TI instead of Treasure Island. Always liked the look of the chips too.
This is a very good choice for a first time traveler or someone who has been away form Vegas for a number of years. Bridge to Venetian makes crossing the strip a more pleasent experiance too!

Thanks for all the quick responses! This sure makes me feel better about my choice. I did all the research & planning for our trip, and I want our first time there to be memorable. Thanks again! I'm sure I'll have more questions to throw at all of you pros as it gets closer to July. :p

Agree with the above posts. Did not do well gambling during our TI stays, but had no complaints about the hotel/casino and liked the location. We did our best gambling at the Mirage which was a quick tram ride away. I do recommend Cirque du Soleil while a guest at the hotel. Believe you will enjoy your stay at TI.
