A young man sat down at a blackjack table. He played for 45 minutes, betting $5 a hand, and he never lost! A well dressed man was standing behind the table, watching the young man play. Finally, he asked the young man timidly, "Would you mind if I made a bet on your next hand ?

The young man shrugged, "I don't care" he said.

The well dressed man reached into his pocket, took out $2,000 in cash, and placed it on top of the young man's $5 bet.

The dealer dealt the young man two 10s.
The young man turned to the man behind him and said, " If you don't give me $500, I'm going to hit that 20!

I've probably seen Barney Vinson at Caesars many times and just don't know it's him. Last week there was a dealer setting up a Blackjack table for lessons. That might have been Barney.

Brad, you're kidding!! I saw him a few weeks ago and didn't realize who he was. I watched the teaching session for a little while.

I own most of his books too. Vinson, has some of the best stories to tell about Vegas. Sadly, I've never met him in person, but I have exchanged e-mails with him a few times. I was suprised, I got a quick response and not just an e-mail form letter. I haven't written lately though.
Another good writter on Las Vegas Style, IMHO is Monti Rock the III. Remember his disco hits? Get Dancin & Hot Lava?

Veronica, I'm trying to remember what he looked like. Since I wasn't paying much attention to him, I'm not real sure. I'm sure he was older than me. The reason I stopped in the first place is that there was a "potential" craps shooter at the table and I wanted to get an upclose look to see if the candidate was in fact a good one. So I didn't pay much attention to the dealer/teacher.
