   Bellagio Art Gallery Move
The Fine arts gallery at Bellagio will be closed 8/9&10, while it moves to it new larger location, at the Pool Promenade. It has doubled in size, and in artworks.

Paul, the art gallery has been a great success for Bellagio. There are always lines to get in. I'll bet the move and the increased displays will generate more business.

This is a greatly needed move. We made our first visit to the gallery just last week. The paintings and the people are right on top of one another. I thought a poor venue for such fine pieces. I was happy to see many tourists who would probably pass on fine art enjoying this attraction however. that is good for the arts. Wynn narrations are excellent for the beginner too. Hope they will keep the audio tape portion. Paula

Is this worth seeing if you're not an artsy person?

Carol,
I wouldn't know, I'm not "artsy"! LOL
I avoid culture, where ever possible, so hence, I've not visited it.
I know a lot of "artsy" people, and some that want to be "artsy" people, and they love the stuff. <S>

To Carol, I don't know what he will have at the new location but the former collection was small though eclectic. Some museums are cheaper at $12.00 a person at Bellagio. Guess its all up to you. Paula

Michael and I decided to check out the Bellagio art gallery this week. We had been there during our January visit. Since it had been moved to a new site in the pool promenade, the gallery was supposed to be larger in size and supposed to have more paintings than before. Michael and I both agreed that we felt that the 2 rooms that housed the paintings were about the same size as they were before, maybe slightly larger, but not really enough to make a difference. What was much larger in size was the gift shop. Surprise! <vbg> The new location is much better because there was always a line to get into the gallery and since there were also many people in the conservatory it just added to the congestion. I think there were about the same number of painting displayed, although I counted five paintings that were not there in January. I did enjoy seeing the paintings again, but they are still placed close together on the walls of the gallery. We made the mistake of going on a Sunday afternoon and it was quite busy, so we didn't spend as much time in the gallery as I would have liked to. If you are interested in going, I would suggest a weekday evening and remember that you can purchase your tickets in advance by contacting Bellagio by telephone.
