Since I’ve never seen Rent I won’t be much help here, but I believe it’s a contemporary version of the opera La Boheme but with rock music and is about a group of young New Yorkers. I believe Rent started on Broadway maybe 3 or 4 years ago and has won much critical acclaim and numerous awards.

Hi Veronica & Carol- I saw Rent this year when it came to Richmond. It was a great show-one I would reccomend seeing. It is a rock opera which takes place in NYC.

Hi V, Carol & Carrie,

I loved Rent! Very high energy show and yes V, it is based on 'La Boheme.' I think it's definitely worth the price that is advertised. I noticed that the touring companies were just as good if not better than the NYC or LA companies.

Hi all,
I just took my niece to NYC two weeks ago to see "Rent". I paid $75 a ticket. It was absolutely wonderful. I highly recommend it as well.

If I'm not mistaken, I remember hearing a radio ad for "RENT" stating that it was the only show since "A CHORUS LINE" to not only receive a Tony award but also a Pulitzer prize. I guess the show would have to be great with those accolades.
