Harrah's Las Vegas has announced it will close it's production show "Spellbound" early next year.

The good new is, they have signed Clint Holmes to a multi year deal to star in the main showroom.

Clint became a free agent when the Golden Nugget recently closed their showroom down. Clint did very well at the GN and has received rave reviews from many critics. I saw his one man musical variety show in July and was very impressed with his talent and energy.

Mirage Resorts wanted to keep Clint and wanted to place him in one of the Bellagio lounges. But with his recent success at the Golden Nugget, Clint considered the lounge gig offered, a step back.

Harrah's made a good move grabbing Clint who is scheduled to headline at Harrahs starting in the spring of 2000.

Mark, did you ever see Spellbound. I did not because everyone I talk to about it said it was mediocre at best. Clint should do real well by moving to a strip property.

John, did you know that Spellbound originated at Harrah's in Reno many years ago? Over the years, I saw it 3 times, and I do think the original Reno cast was better but it was still an enjoyable show in Las Vegas....especially a trio called something like "the human form" that put on an impressive act of strength and agility.

John,

Had a chance to see Spellbound w/ some free tickets last year. Ayala (the magician) pulled me onstage to share a few tricks.

His assistant would whisper incorrect instructions to me just before Ayala would tell me to do something completely different.

IMO, this show is mediocre, but worth the price if you get those free tickets.

Really like the fact that Clint will be featured in a showroom on the strip. He puts on a very good show. Once the word gets out, he'll do very well.
