This can't be confirmed at this time, but I've heard that Wayne Newton may become a regular performer in the main showroom at the Stardust sometime next year. No word on what will happen to "Enter the Night" if this turns out to be true.

It is true that Wayne will perform on NYE at the Stardust.

Mark: It's being reported that Wayne now has a deal with the Stardust (Boyd Gaming) for 10 years at $25 million per year, surpassing Danny Gans' 8-year, $80 million deal at Mirage, and Wayne will perform exclusively at the Stardust 40 weeks per year.

He's supposed to start Jan. 24 in the 920-seat Stardust Theater, to be renamed the Wayne Newton Theater. "Enter the Night" will end its run by the end of the year to make room for Wayne.

Dang it, now I won't be able to catch him at the Tony Orlando theater in Branson. I hope he is better at showing up for the Stardust than what he was in Branson. He has had a history of cancelling shows there.

Vegas is more his style though. I never really thought he fit in with the likes of Mel Tillis, The Bald Knobbers, The Dixie Stampede, or Boxcar Willie.

I forgot to mention that tickets for Wayne Newton at the Stardust are supposed to be between $40 to $45.

Doug: It’s reported that Wayne will be in Branson most of November and December. Even though he will perform exclusively at the Stardust, he still plans to peform in Branson and Atlantic City regularly.

Didn’t Wayne once work with Tony Orlando in Branson, but now they are suing each other?

Yes they did. Turned out to be two very big ego's in one small theater. Didn't work out very well. They should have stayed friends and left the buisness part alone.

Actually Branson wouldn't miss him. Fact is most people there really don't care much for him. He might be a great guy but he just isn't down home enough for most of the folks in town.
