The lighting signals the beginning of the Country Holiday Fesival, which runs through December 26th. Every day during the festival, The march of the toy soldiers is performed in the pedestrain mall. Huge toy soldiers, elves, and other country holiday characters dance under the Fremont Street Experiance canopy to the delight of the childern of all ages.

V,
I'm sure I'll see it. Although the dancing toy soldiers and elves, might be a bit much for me! <S>
The Holidays are differnt in Vegas for us. We have no tarditions to keep, so the holidays don't get in the way of a good time in Vegas. Then when we get home, we rush around like some sort of nuts, trying to do everything in 3 weeks. <s>

Lee,
This sounds like something Michael's family might be interested in seeing while they are in town. Do you know what time the tree lighting and march of the toy soldiers will be?

Ok,
Made a few phone calls, here's what I just learned....

Nov. 24th, 5:30pm free performance on the 3rd street stage (performer un-named at current time)
6:10pm performance on Fremont Street (soldier march)
6:30pm tree lighting.
Santa will be in the area, expected somewhere around first street. (For all you bad little boys & girls that want to still try to get on Santa's good side) LOL

Lee,
Thanks for the information. I'll pass it along to Michael's family. I think they will enjoy this.
