Jan: I'm not sure of your December dates, so just a warning, but Danny Gans ends his Rio run 12/22, and then he won't move to the Mirage until April. It's been reported that ticket prices at the Mirage will be about $69. Maybe saving $30 per person on tickets and waiting to see him at the Mirage next year is worth it to you, since ticket prices at the Mirage are supposed to stay stable, as Gans has some control over prices plus he never liked how Rio had that $99 per price tag. Gans tickets sell quickly, so if you do decide to see him in December while he's still there, I'd check into getting tickets ASAP (dark Mondays and Thursdays).
As for The Rat Pack, the Desert Inn has continously extended the show, so there's a good chance they will be extending it beyond Dec. 5. Again, depending on your dates though, you may run into dark days for the show.

Jan,
I've seen Danny twice since he came to the Rio. Once we sat near the back of the showroom and the other time we were near the stage. Most seats in his current showroom are OK, but when someone tells you ALL seats are good, don't believe em.
IMO, most seats near the front are MUCH better that those so-called good seats in the back. My advice would be - if you can get some pretty good seats to see him while he's still at the Rio - go for it. The ticket price is steep, but the show is more than three times better than the good $35 shows I have seen.
Danny will have a newly built showroom when he moves to The Mirage. It will hold apprx twice as many people as the Rio's showroom. But the Mirage has stated - no seat will be very far from the stage. (I forget the distance.) We know guests at the Mirage, Bellagio, Treasure Island and Golden Nugget will get first crack at the Good seats. But if you pick a mid-week show you could have a chance at the good seats, too.
Even though Danny's new showroom is much larger, it's a good bet that once he moves to the Strip and plays at the Mirage it will be an even tougher ticket to get than it already is.
