The New Year's Eve celebration under the illuminated canopy of the Fremont Street Experience isn't quite as wild as the Strip blowout. It is an official event, which may sit better with some than the contained fury up the street.
The Experience has booked 4 bands: REO Speedwagon, Starship, The Guess Who, and Creedence Clearwater Revisited. Tickets are $100 per person and available through Ticketmaster. Locals who purchase tickets through Fremont Street offices will be able to get the tickets for $90 and a free T-shirt. There will be a ton of confetti dropped from the canopy and there will be a limited amount of party favors available to the attendees. A special light show will be unveiled for the New Year's Eve celebration. Gates should open at about 5 p.m.
