I was singing the intermizzo pelacatta from Aieda in the shower this morning and suddenly it struck me ................!!

Whatever happened to Piano Bars?

I don't recall ever seeing one in Las Vegas for a real long time.

In fact the last one I saw one outside of Hawaii was around 1970 in a new Santa Monica startup resturant called Tony Roma's.

So now that they don't exist no more, or maybe they have just gotten scarce.

So what happened to all those old time songs we used to sign after twenty beers or so?

I'll Get By, Moonglow, Moodndigo, April in Paris, Tenderly, Softly, etc.

Does anyone sing these old time classics while sitting on a piano stool in Las Vegas anymore.

If you let me know, I'm gonna go and listen!

The Golden Gate still has the Piano Player sitting in the back tickeling the ivories. But sing along to it????

NY NY has the "Dueling Pianos".

Caesars had a piano player in the bar nearest the front desk. But I think he may be gone by now.
I think I remember a piano player at one of the lounges at Bellagio also.

Will, the Flamingo has a piano 'near' a bar. If that counts.....It's outside the Flamingo Room heading toward the buffet. There is supposed to be some guy playing (I've yet to see him), and have, in the past, heard the piano playing by itself.....or maybe it was the ghost which explains why I've never seen him??!!
