Whatever happened to the Oatman Hotel in Oatman, Nevada (0r is it Arizona?)

I do know that it's located on old Route 66.

It's claim to fame was that Clark Gable and Carol Lombard spent their honeymoon there.

Last time I was in town, the Oatman Hotel was up for sale. DId anyone ever buy it?

Anyone ever stay there?

Whatever happened to the plan to construct an electric light park with all those old LV signs sitting in some junkyard north of town?

Last I heard they were planning to fix them all up and plug them all in and light the desert sky right there along the Cal/Nevada border in Primm.

Whatever happened to Whiskey Pete?

I mean the real Whiskey Pete who pioneered Primm, Nevada?

I spent a whole afternoon there once asking about Whiskey Pete, but the best reply I ever got was, "It's across the highway thar!".

Pretty sad state of affairs if you ask me!

Whatever hapened to the scarcity of water in Las Vegas?

Back about 20 years ago, you had to ask for water with your meals because it was too scarce to accomodate every visitor to that town.

Now they're shooting it high up in the desert sky and filling pools of ever description.

Did we find an unknown/unlimited resavoir or what?

I can tell you about the Oatman, AZ hotel. Its still there and opened to the public. You can't say there over night, just tour the place. There is a box where you can leave a donation if you want.

Oatman is a great little town to visit if you are in the Laughlin area.

Will: Just to puff up a bit! Olive Oatman was my great,great, something? She stayed with my Great Grandparents on the family's donation Land claim in Jackson County,Oregon; for a while after being released from the indians. I still have several of her hand-me-downs from then. Her notes, etc...
She became a very learned person and spoke all over the States..
Oatman is a very interesting little ghost (tourist) town now with much history..Worth the trip to see it!
