Kelly Clinton hosts a Celebrity Spotlight every Sunday night at The Bootlegger Bistro. It gives the celebrity a chance to do whatever they want to do. Since space is limited, they usually do an abbreviated version of what they would do on the strip and just sing the songs that the audience will like. A couple of weeks ago, Kelly did a spotlight on herself, doing the kind of things that she likes to do.

Kelly's normal life is Entertainemnt Director at The Stirling Club at Turnberry. She has lounge show that she often does at Turnberry and sometimes does at other locations. She put together the Las Vegas Tenors. And she produced The Shades of Sinatra. In her past, she has been a singer and comedienne.

So for her show, to do what she likes to do, she did a variety show. It was scarry how much it reminded me of a Carol Burnette show. She had a monologue, she did an impression of her mother from when she was kid. She sang a love song with Clint Holmes. She sang some songs she likes to sing. She did a costume change and became Cher for a Sonny and Cher skit with Teddy Davey (from the tenors). She did another costume change for her Kelvis portion of the show where she does her Elvis impressions. She did another costume change for a skit as an old Italian mobster guy. She even played the trumpet a little. She did a song with the girls from Menopause. She did so many different skits and songs amd costume changes that I can't remember them all.

From what I understand, she has lot's of characters that she can do, but just doesn't do them because they don't fit her current lifestyle. I think this show brought her out of that comfort zone she is familiar with to let her know that she still has wide range of talents.

Some of her stuff reminded me of Carol Burnett. Some of her singing and comedy talents were reminding me of Burnadette Peters. And when she brought out the trumpet, it pretty much sealed the Burnadette angle.

This show was free at The Bootlegger. It would have been a very fun show even if it would have been on the strip and I had to pay for it. If you ever get a change to see Kelly doing Kelly, it is worth it.
