There are 2 major players in Las Vegas for the best prime rib deal. The Lady Luck has the unadvertised special in the coffee shop. The San Remo has now entered the competition, offering a $4.95 special in it's coffee shop. The quality of the meal is good in both places. I have had the Lady Luck prime rib and found it to be pretty good. Has anyone tried the San Remo prime rib?

John,
I had the San Remo prime rib many years ago when it was more like $2.99. The best prime rib deal I ever had in Vegas was at Jerry's Nugget. I'm sure you've seen it, it's across the street from you know where .
Jeff, LOL. I know where Jerry's is<G> I haven't tried their prime rib in a LONG time. It used to be a great deal. You don't hear much about Jerry's anymore. Of course that area of town leaves a lot to be desired.

Bill, the review I saw said that the quality of the prime rib was good. I don't consider something a bargain unless the quality it decent. Maybe they should stick to sides of baked potato and salad. It's hard to screw those up<G>

Last time there (March) my wife woke up at 1am and was hungry, so off we go to San Remo we go. Maybe I was tired but the meal was excellent. Good size cut of prime rib, cooked the way I asked for, salad, veg. (corn), and decent sized baked potato. We'll do it again this next trip I'm sure. We both work nights and tend to keep some odd hours.

John, Joe and I were in San Remos only once. I believe Joe had the rib and I had some pasta a dish. I think it was fettucini or shrimp scampi. Can't remember which but it was not good.
I'll check with Joe to see if he remembers what the rib was like.
We were talking the other day though and Joe mentioned that one of the best rib he's had here so far is at Jerry's Nugget. The only problem with the rib at JN is they are not consistant. We've eaten there a lot and 50% of the time you'll get an excellent meal. The other 50% you want to cry.
And JN is known to have one of the cleanest kitchens in town.
Although it's not in a great area, JN has a lot of bicycle security outside. Also security is visible at the north end of the casino (at the valet) and walking through the casino. I have never see any trouble there.
Jn is a low-key local's place with soft rock piped in music and friendly bartenders. I like the quietness of this casino when playing the machines. JN also has a little lounge that Joe and I have enjoyed from the doorway <g>.
Only thing I can say that I didn't care for is the BJ pit and bosses are not very friendly. Not UNfriendly but not friendly.
