The four of us went to Papamio's last night to celebrate our anniversary. Joe & I wanted to try that Thai restaurant that Daisy went to but the kids weren't all that excited about Thai. So we headed up to Sam's Town about 4 pm.

Got to Papamio's and found that it did not open until 5 pm. So, Little Joe got on a house phone and made 5 pm reservations. He then asked the girl if we could have a patio table. She told him the patio tables are given on a first come, first serve basis.

Little Joe was a little irritated at this since we had 5 pm reservations and the place opens at 5 pm. Didn't figure there should be a problem for the girl to reserve a patio table. But that is their policy- patio tables are not reserved.

The kids bowled for a half hour while Joe and I played a few machines. No luck. The place was really busy due to a drawing. Met at Papamio's at 5 pm and we were promptly seated at a patio table. We put Big Joe at the seat under one of the balconies. You know those balconies where anyone can drop anything over the edge and kill ya?

Joe had already eaten so we only ordered 3 meals. I had the chicken scampi (lots of chicken & fettucini noodles with garlic butter) which was delicious. Little Joe had the fettucini alfredo. Not enough alfredo sauce so he asked for more on the side. Theresa had the chicken parmigiana. Both kids' meals were good. Kids had soft drinks.

Change at Papamio's, they no longer bring you the big family-style salad with vinegrette dressing. Each person gets their own salad or small cup of soup. Little Joe had the minestrone soup. Theresa had salad with ranch dressing- she had to ask for more dressing on the side. And I had salad with the same vinegrette dressing that they used to serve family-style. That vinegrette dressing is still delicious.

Toasted garlic french bread was served with the meal.

Bill came to about $38.50 not including tip. Service and food -- very good.

John & Daisy, Thanks for the electronic anniversary wishes!!!

Haven't heard the music yet because I just set up this computer again and lost my sound. Will work on the sound today.

Gail,
Wish we could have been there to celebrate with all of you. Best belated wishes for your anniversary!

Did you enjoy eating on the patio or did you feel as though you were in the middle of a public place? If it was relaxing, I'd like to eat on the patio some time. Have always enjoyed my Beef Medallion at Papamio's.

Beth, Thanks for the anniversary wishes!

I like eating on the patio. It is sectioned off "enough" that it does not feel like your in the middle of a public place. Don't know what it's sectioned off with- maybe plants or something. Or else, the wall is above your eye level while sitting.

One nice thing about it is you get to see the light show at least once while you're eating there. However, at the 6 pm show, there were no colored laser lights. I guess it was too early, too light out for the lights.

Think we'll try to get to eat on the patio at Sam's.

Sounds like it is unlike when we ate outside at the Cheesecake Factory at the Forum Shop Mall. The Atlantis show started and how I wished I were in the back room. Too loud and just too many people. I did have the feeling of sitting in the middle of the street.

Beth, You are so right about the Cheesecake Factory. Joe and I sat out in that front area and it had a terrible atmosphere. And the railing right next to our table was too low and people were leaning right up against the railing. It was disgusting.

Gail, Glad you were able to celebrate with the entire family. That's not so easy these days. Sounds like you had a great meal. I have always had a good meal at any of the restaurants at Sams Town. I know there was a period of time when some people were having bad experiences there, but I hope that was just a temporary thing.
Glad to hear you got the card. I've been thinking of you guys a lot lately and hoping all is well.

John, Okay, I'll post here what I deleted to Beth in the above note <lol>.

Things get a lot better when you're living apart!

On topic <bg>, I wish Sam's Town would be more consistent with their food. Some days it is excellent. And I've had times when the waiter would tell me that I better not order a certain item.

Lee Ann, Daisy, & John: Thank you , thank you for the anniversary wishes <s>.

Daisy, Re: Papamios, they change their many often. But "most" of the food is good. We should really meet for dinner there some time.

Beth, I don't recall the beef being on the menu the other night. But I'm hoping I just missed it. Because it is really good. I'll probably order it next time we go there- if it is still on the menu. Will let you know.
