In the latest issue of Gourmet Magazine, Jonathan Gold writes an extensive review of the new high-end restaurants in Las Vegas. Considering that he was once in Los Angeles, now lives in New York, and knows as much about food as anyone I know, his comments are fascinating.
He argues that if you take the top 25 restaurants in Las Vegas, they compete with the top 25 restaurants of any other city in the country.
He feels that many of the restaurants from famous chefs are as good in LV as the originals, and in this regard has particularly nice things to say about Delmonico's, Prime, Napa, and Nobu. This is the special restaurant issue of Gourmet, and is a worthwhile purchase for anyone who travels and is interested in restaurants across the country.
