Ate at Ruth's Chris a couple of weeks ago at their west side location on Flamingo. What a disappointment. I used to be a pretty big fan of Ruth's Chris but my last couple of meals have been below par. This was my time at trying a Las Vegas location.

This Ruth's Chris is open until 3am and has live jazz after 10pm. We went here after seeing the play Chicago at Mandaly and had a 10pm reservation on a Thur. night. It was not very crowded at this time, about 8-10 tables in use, I think.

After we were first seated our waitress was talking to the table next to us giving them lengthy directions to some place. We waited something close to 10 minutes until she was done talking with them. Then, instead of taking a drink order from us, she said she would be back after taking care of their bill. Seems to me she had her priorities wrong since we were waiting because of that other party.

Anyway, the caesar salad was crummy, and the food over-cooked. The rib-eye was very flavorful, just not nearly as good as it could have been if cooked properly. For what you pay here I expect great service AND great food. It seemed the waitress was not very well trained. The only way I'll return is if they offer me a free dinner after I write the manager.

2 thumbs down!

Randy

Randy,
Thanks for the reviews! I'd love to hear your opinion of the Mexican at the Orleans. It would also be great to have Kelly post her views on these places.

I'll definitely get to the Orleans Mexican some day.

Allow Kelly to post her thoughts? Hmmm, I never thought of that.<vbg>

Right now I only allow her to use the computer to practice her video poker!!!!

Randy, I ate at Ruth Chris about 2 years ago. The food was bad and the service was worse. With all the great dining choices in Las Vegas I decided not to return there. Sounds like I made a good decision.
