My husband and I are renewing our vows in Vegas next spring and we will have a few guests, including my sister and my best friend. We would like to take everyone out for a nice dinner afetr the ceremony to thank them for making the trip, but obviously, as this may end up being 8-10 people, we would like to keep it on the less expensive side (so Emeril's is out!!). I have read about Bertolini's which is in the Forum Shops at Caesar's, and it sounds pretty good - is anyone familiar with this place? Our other thought is Sam Woo's except that no one will likely have a car - how much would a taxi be from Sam Woo's to the Barbary Coast, which is where most of us will be staying?

Thanks!

Cathy in Boston (back on line with a beautiful new computer!!!!)

Cathy: Congratulations on your new computer.

I've eaten several times at Bertolini's; however, not for about 2 years now. The occasions I was there I found the food and service to be very good, but there have been occasional reports of inconsistency.

Hang around for other suggestions before you settle on Bertolini's.

Cathy, we always dine at Bertolinis when in Las Vegas. It is one of our favorites. The most expensive thing on the menu is around $15 so the cost is reasonable. The food is great and so is the service. The only downside for a group like yours is that it is a bit noisy since you are next to the fountain and inside the Forum shops with all the people walking around.
But as long as you can get a table for 10 you should be fine. I don't think they take reservations, so you may want to check with them in advance to be sure they can handle your party of 10.
Also, where are you staying. There may be some other recommendations from other people as to where to eat. Since you won't have a car, we can try to recommend some places close to where you are staying.
But, as far as price, service, and good food goes it is hard to beat Bertolinis.

Truthfully, I've tried Bertolinni's 3 times now and I'm still not impressed with them. Sevrice has been good and bad and the food has been good and bad. Plus the noise level is LOUD because of the fountains. Unfortunately I can't think of another recommendation within walking distance of the BC unless the cafe portion of Spago's will arrange seating for 8-10. If they will, I would say go there.

It's not exactly walking distance<g>, but the BC does have free shuttles to both the Orleans and the Gold Coast.....the Orleans has an excellent Italian restaurant (Vito's) with dinners ranging from $7-$15 and the Cortez Room at the Gold Coast can also accomodate a group that size. The prices are in the same range, and I've had a very good prime rib dinner there and also a very good Cobb Salad.

Hi all, thanks for the comments and suggestions. Staying at the Barbary Coast, Michael's and Drai's are out since we are picking up the entire tab(!!) and want to go someplace a little nicer than the Victorian Room (but as a side note - if you are having breakfast there, they have the best coffee cake I have ever tasted, and it is free with every order!). The places at Orleans and Gold Coast are intriguing, I do like the Orleans a lot too and it would give everyone a respite from the strip for a few hours.

Will keep checking around and, again, thanks to all!

I have been to Bertolini's on two occasions and enjoyed the moderate priced food very much. Sitting near the Fountain made it seem just like being in Rome, and people watching.
