   Mobil 5 Star Award Restaurants
Mobil has given its five star award to two Las Vegas Restaurants, Picasso at Bellagio and Renoir at the Mirage. Julian Serrano is the chef at Picasso and Alex Stratta is the chef at Renoir. I have been wanting to try Renoir (it was formally named Restaurant Alex Stratta, or something like that), but never got around to it before. I am going to see if we can get reservations to eat there during our trip this month. Except this means that Michael will have to pack his suit which won't make him too happy. Lee Ann, this story made the "Top Story" in today's Las Vegas Review Journal.

************************************

For the first time, diners coming to Las Vegas have two five-star restaurants to choose from.

The 2000 Mobil Travel Guide, released Monday, lists Renoir at The Mirage and Picasso at Bellagio as two of 19 restaurants to earn the guide's top rating.

The city, once considered the pantheon for cheap, hearty food, joins such culinary heavy hitters as San Francisco, New York, Chicago and New Orleans on the list of top dining outlets. Las Vegas, Atlanta and New York are the only cities with multiple five-star winners in the latest guide.

For anyone who wants to read the complete story, you can go to the TalkVegas Home Page at www.talkvegas.com and click on Las Vegas Links, and then click on Las Vegas Review Journal newspaper.

Lee Ann, I would love to try Picasso's someday. Maybe for my next Anniversary <bg>.
