We will be renewing our vows in May and will have four friends joining us. We would like to take everyone to dinner after the wedding. We ate at the Black Spot Grille last year (on someone's recommendation from this board) and liked it very much. We are thinking about that place, but I wanted to ask if anyone has any other thoughts. We would like to keep it around $25 per person, and would like to keep it accessible by walking or bus. We are all staying at the Barbary Coast. (Michael's is out!!!!)

Thanks!!!

Just a thought, but how about Mon Ami Gabi, @ Paris?
This would be differnt, although with drinks, it would pass the $25 perperson rule I think.

Cathy: You could check out the menu at Il Fornaio at NYNY. Nice atmosphere, good service, and reasonable. I'll email you the menu link, so you can have a look.

One other thought was to check the restaurants at Rio for something reasonable. Their web site seems to be down a lot, so I was unable to check it out.

If you could get Downtown, there will be additional options for a quality dinner in your price range.

Lee, Veronica,

Thanks for your replies! Veronica, I took a look at Il Fornaio's menu and it looks pretty good. Lee, I thought Mon Ami Gabi was very expensive, am I wrong? (Just my impression.) If it is not, then that would be a definite possibility as well.

Has anyone tried Peking Market at the Flamingo?

Thanks again!

Cathy, The All American Bar and Grill at the Rio would fit your criterea. Also, The Pullman Grill at Main Street Station if you are looking downtown.
I've only had lunch at the Palm in the Forum Shops at Caesars, so I don't know what the dinner prices are. But if someone says it's in your price range the Palm is an excellent choice.

Cathy,
3 of ua had dinner there for under $100 and Sue & I had drinks, so I don't think it's that bad in the price catagory.

The prices at Mon Ami Gabi are about $20 - $27 for a steak entree which includes potatoes and another vegetable. A fancy salad was about $8 and the dessert was around $6. Of course, add drinks to that and it goes up even more.

I love the Black Spot Grille. Great food and a nice place to people-watch. They have a sandwich there that used to be called the Coastliner and now is called the Rosemary Grilled Chicken Breast, and it's our favorite. That's more of a lunch item, tho.

Each of the above sounds great to me if anyone is treating, but I would strongly suggest one (and one place only) - Lawrey's House of Prime Rib.

It's either on East Tropicana or East Flamingo, just a few long blocks off the Strip; so a cab ride may be appropriate.

I can't tell ya why I feel this way, but I prefer to celebrate a fitting occasion with a good meal outside of the casino environment.

I guess I'm just a classy guy!

Will, you make a good point about celebrating away from a casino. While there are some fine restaurants inside the casinos there is something nice about getting away from the casino for a nice dinner.
