I'll second John's recommendation on the Bewpub at Main Street Station.

We got our steak and beer fix well satisfied there - the rest of the menu looked pretty good, too. I just had to have steak - had one too many convention chicken meal at that point.

I was surprised to see the sushi bar in the corner of the brewpub! Any sushi fans out there try this one? Beer and sushi are great together, it just seemed out of place with the rest of the casual brewpub atmosphere.

How is it?

I haven't had sushi there. I have indulged in a bucket of peel and eat shrimp on several occasions and they always gave a pretty good count of tasty shrimps that go well with the beer.

Our recent trip to MSS brew pub, Our friends Dennis & Denise had some sushi there with dinner. However, I couldn't tell you what they ordered....it all looks like raw rolled up fish to me....YUCK. LOL

Well, it IS all rolled up raw fish!

Except for the lying there flat and dead on lump of rice fish.

I actually like sushi, if you like any kind of seafood at all you should give it a try. You need that beer if you put too much hot wasabi (japanese horseradish) on it. That stuff should be sold by prescription only!

The wasabi was explained to me in great detail, and it looked so harmless. LOL I think I might like to try it sometime, however I got cold feet this trip when an opertunity presented itself. The thought of being sick in Las vegas, because i tried something new has stopped me every time. Maybe this is a try at home first thing?

One other great downtown secret is the Second Street Grill at the Fremont. The biggest suprise is how nice the room is and how wonderfully the food is presented. You just wouldn't expect this from the Fremont!
