We usually have one great meal while in Las Vegas. We call it "Fine Dining" and I guess that's appropriate.

I'd like to ask the members of this fine group to list their four favorite LV Fine Dining establishments.

You must have personally dined at the restaurant before you can place it on your Top Four list.

Once your Top Four list is completed, please feel free to list the Top Four Fine Dining Restaurants that would be on your list but you have yet to dine at.

My Top Four Fine Dining Places in LV that I have actually eaten at -

Lawrey's House of Prime Rib on East Flamingo. I got to admit that I love the Martinis here and I have never had better Prime Rib anywhere else. I don't know if most of us would consider Lawrey's to be a Fine Dining Restaurant but any place with that extra fork is a fine dining place to me.

Hugo's Cellar. Good food served with a fancy florish in a nice dark atmosphere with nice music.
Is that fine dining? The day we dined there they must have had a fire in the kitchen because they cooked our meal right beside our table. (Made our salad there too!)

And that is all I can think of right now so I only have a list of two!

Other fine dining spots I want to try in a future visit include -

Picasso's in the Bellagio.
Le Cirque in the Bellagio.
Michael's in the Barbary Coast. (Some say this is the best in LV.)
Pamplemousse if it is still in existance.
And number five would be ..... The Four Star Restaurant in the Mirage whose name I forget.

ANd I have to mention the Palace Court!

Any Caesars Palace restaurant that replaced the Palace Court. If you never saw the Palace Court, you missed a wonderous sight. Did anyone ever dine here and, better yet, did anyone ever gamble before dinner in that fancy little casino ajacent to the dining area?

Next time I build a restaurant, I'm going to design it identical to the Palace Court. I wonder why they tore it down?

Thanks ........ Will

Will,

"Fine Dining" is not really high on my list when I'm in Vegas.

I could list 4 memorable dining experiences. They would be:
LILLY LANGTREES. at the Golden Nugget. I had Chinese. Dinner companions had steak & lobster which looked great.
THE STEAK HOUSE at Circus Circus. Rustic room with good steaks & sides. Unique layout with meat grilled in the middle of teh room.
PASTA PIRATE at the California. Dependable, good food. Never leave hungry.
REDWOOD GRILL at the Cal. An 'Old Vegas' type room with a great porterhouse steak special.

Believe it or not the Rib house at the IP, great atmosphere, service and food fantastic. never had ribs there but they know how to prepare a steak. And the price is reasonable.

The Palm in the Forum Shops

Renoir @ Mirage--5 star and VERY expensive
Kokomos @ Mirage
Smith and Wollenskys
Pullman Grill @ Main Street Station
AND my favorite and one of the best kept secrets in Las Vegas IMO:
Second Street Grill @ Fremont

Hmmmm.....

Delmonico's
Comanders Palace
Second Street grill
The Palm

There are many honerable menbtions to this list, and a great deal of my top 4 choices are what I would eat right now if given that choice. However, any one of the following could easily be exchanged on that list, depending on the mood I was in and what I was hungry for...
Pullman Grill, Emerils Fish House, McCormik & Schmeck, Center Stage, Rib house at IP, 4 seasons @ Ballys, Redwood or Pasta Pirate, great Moments room.

My top four I haven't tried....

Charlie Palmers Steak House
Smith & Wolinski
eifle tower resturant
Ruth Criss

well Jeff, Maybe we should go give it a try in August, and see if it's true? Or we could just go to a topless bar and watch the ladies smoke cigars? You choose.....
