What should you wear if you were to dine at the Pullman? How dressed up should you be? Same for the Cortez. We never ate at any of these restaurants, but you guys are always raving about them. Thought we might try one. Also I wonder the same for Caesars Magical Empire. Are shorts permitted or is that to casual?

I can only tell you about the Cortez Room at the Gold Coast. We were in shorts and were not out of place. Of course, the outside temp at the time was 110.
The food was very good and very reasonable.

Dress is casual - both at the Cortez and at the Pullman - I would definately feel comfortable in shirt sleeves or sport coat - your choice - I personally think both restaurants are outstanding - both in decor, food, and prices. Enjoy Wendell

P.S. The Pullman has "dark days" - call for reservations. Wendell

Caesars Magical Empire is the same. Shorts are fine.

Which raises a question...Why do they always show people overly dressed in the ads? Is it because that is how they 'hope' people will come? Then when you get there, you feel out of place? confused

I wouldn't wear shorts to either place for dinner. I'd probably wear dockers and a golf shirt. However, you wouldn't be alone if you did wear shorts.

I agree with the Senator. Not wearing shorts shows a respectful regard for the establishment as well as saying something about your own self image. Irrespective of, what others wear.

Both senatorjm and Ed said it very well!
A year or so ago I posted a comment on another board about dress in some of the places that are so-to-speak "middle of the road" eating establishments! Not just cafes but nice! We had a table fairly close to a fellow that had on shorts and a loud green tank top. He was born (not his fault) with a propensity to grow a lot of body hair. The only problem for us was that it sure took away our desire for a nice meal? I posted about these same comments and there were many whom thought he had every right to dress however he wished. I didn't; but said that people should be mindful of others and do accordingly... eek I may be somewhat old-fashioned but my parents taught me to be considerate of others?.. smile

I'd like to hear more opinions on this. I'm going to start a new thread with an appropriate topic so people will know it's there.

jburp,
I'd wear pants to all your places mentioned. Las Vegas is still part Cowboy town in my eyes and Jeans are exceptable too. If you have any doubts, just check the crowd out during National Finals Rodeo. Don't forget your large belt buckle! <S>
Don't be suprised if you see people in shorts at any of the 3 places you mentioned however.
to give you an example, it has been a posted policy at the Plaza Center Stage, no shorts allowed, however one time a long time ago, I found out a $5 tip to the matri'd can make that policy go away too! I was tired & hungary and with friends. It was late, and I was downtown, our hotel was on the strip. I enjoyed dinner, but do not make a habbit of dinning in shorts.
