Hi Tom, The gal told me they were going to open tomorrow!!! She wasn't sure if the decor was travelling with them, except the plants.....the plants WERE going! Gee, I wonder if they had a Tater Sack sale........I could USE some new clothes!!! The food was good, and the china, usually known as styrofoam, but known as china, at least at Two Brothers BBQ in Ballground, GA, was indeed serviceable............and saves on dishwasher detergent. And you are right, JMT, the salad was good, and the service super friendly. I hope they are able to continue all that in their new location, which I STILL cannot remember the name of. Grrrrrr. I tried to call the listed number, to see if they had a recording on the line, but there was no answer. I'll keep trying to find it............

Hey Tater, I got a 5 year old update for you. <g> The old poker bar reference in the previous posts was a bust, but the Red Apple Grill is back. I had dinner last night at the Hush Puppy on Charleston. As I was leaving, I looked across the street and saw a Red Apple Grill sign. I was not hungry, but went over just to check it out.
They have been in this location behind the Pizza Hut about a month. It is next door to a bar called Boodles? It was probably part of the bar at one time, but is clearly divided now per the new smoking laws.
The owner/chef was very friendly. He said he has the same smokers he had when he was at the Cheyenne location. The menu has a lot of chicken and ribs on it. They are running a 2fer1 special on sandwiches on fresh backed bread for about $9. He was bragging about his burgers, saying they are 95% fresh ground beef and 5% applewood smoked bacon. He uses only top quality cheeses. He said he would grill onions and put an egg on it (at no extra charge) if you like. I see burgers for lunch and chicken and ribs for dinner on my short term to do list. Hush Puppy will be low priority for a while.
They offer take out and accept call ahead orders. Since they are sorta attached to the bar, you can get drink service, yet it remains family friendly.
The decor is not Gilligans Island theme. It is different. I was kinda excited and didn't absorb the atmosphere completely. Big red comfy booths and umbrellas come to mind. Come to think of it, cozy comes to mind. I did not note how scooter friendly it might be. It's is kinda small and tight though.
They have kinda funky hours. Mon 10-6 Tue-Thu 10-8 Fri 10-8:30 Sat 4-8:30 Closed Sun. I kinda think the hours are due to a limited staff. If they catch on and hire more help, I'd think they would get more standardized hours. I think I saw something about Sunday night football specials coming soon.
This place has a lot of potential.

It's not EXACTLY across the street. Maybe I should define the location for everyone. 7006 W Charleston. That would be one light west of Rainbow. The cross street is Antelope. Look behind the Pizza Hut. The bar, Boodles is on the end of the building. Red Apple Grill is the next to it.
I had a burger for lunch today. It was very good. Their fresh bread is deli type oval shaped, so that's what the burger was on. No problem, since the meat patty is hand made and fits the bread nicely. It's a good size burger that would feed two light appetites. Or it's available in a double for a hungry person. I got a single bacon cheeseburger, waffle fries, and also got a dark chicken quarter, all for about $10.
I also found out today that the 2fer special sandwiches are also available as 1 now and a coupon for 1 later. And I overheard an order for a hot dog where there is an option to have it deep fried.
There's only two employees and they stay busy, but service is very friendly, the food is good, and the prices are very reasonable.
The BBQ there is smoked in a smoker. Then it is finished on a grill. So there is slight char on the meats. Sauce was served in a cup.
Also, the decor is big comfy cloth covered booths with red umbrellas.
