Prime Rib Dinner at the Loft- Orleans
Prime Rib Dinner at the Loft- Orleans
Just had a great prime rib dinner at the Loft in the Orleans. It's been a while since my last visit and I have to admit that this place has really improved.

My complete dinner was less than $24 and that included a split of Mumm's Champaigne, a very decent salad, and the Orleans cut prime rib which was perfect.

Please be advised that I am a fussy diner when it comes to Prime Rib,so this posting is not offered lightly.

So far I can only suggest three dining spots in LV that I wholely recommend if you are looking for good PRat a decent price, but I haven't tried them all just yet.

Here are my three favorites so far :

Jerry's Nuggat in North Las Vegas serves a fine PR at a decent price in a semi coffee shoppe atmosphere. It's a great place for a bunch of guys looking for a decent meal, but the ladies probably wouldn't ejoy the ambiance.

Dan Marino's in Hooters. A great PR meal in a casual atmosphere.

The Loft in the Orleans.

You can have a darn fine PR meal in any of the above for $25 dollars or less including sides.

But if you want to go a bit fancier and impress the ladies, definitely try Lawry's House of Prime Rib on East Flamingo.

Bon appetite.

will, How long as it been since you've eaten at Jerry's Nugget. I haven't been there in several years. As I recall, it was a large and flavorful prime rib.

Regarding The PR Loft, I thought it was a decent value when I first moved here. About a year ago, I tried it and had a rather soggy experience. The salad was never to my liking, but this time it was soggy and limp instead of crisp. The baked potato had entirely too much butter on it. It came on the same plate as the prime rib and they poured the juice on the meat so that everything on the plate was soaked in the juice. On top of that, the prices had gone up a few dollars. I tried it again a month later and it was the same thing. On a positive note, everytime I have eaten there, the meat was good. Maybe some people prefer their au jus on the meat instead of on the side. And maybe a potato isn't the ideal side to order there. All I know is that I haven't been back due to a very soggy experience twice in a row.

I plan to give Dan another shot soon. The first time was pretty darn good.

BTW, have you tried the NY strip at Roadrunner yet? It meets dags approval, and he doesn't put up with any bull when talking about steaks.

The House Of Lords at The Sahara usually cranks out a pretty good prime rib. It may be a step up from the PR Loft or Dan's place in price and atmosphere.

JMT, last visit to Jerry's was roughly three years ago and the prime ribserving was definitely the largest I have ever seen. It was definitely worth a repeat if you could overlook the coffee shoppe atmosphere.

I went down there the other day (early afternoon) and noticed that they had remodeled the coffee shop slightly, but have not had a chance to get there for dinner.

Next time I have big eaters in town, we'll definitely go back.

Have not been to the Roadrunner but will give it a try as soon as we can.

How is the dinner in the Silverton?

The best meal at The Silverton is the buffet. And it's a fairly small buffet.

Twin Creeks is the Silverton steakhouse and has been getting worse day by day for over a year.

The coffee shop is not worth the drive, but adequate as long as you are already there.

The Mexican place got a horrible review from Lee. It has been getting great reviews all over town. I trust Lee. I'll have to hear rave reviews for another 6 months befor I will consider it to be on my to do list.
