Jeff, can you tell me a little about your experience with Rent-a-Vette? I know they have nice cars at high prices, but I was curious about procedures, polices, attitudes, check in, check out, as well as any particular situations that you remember when dealing with them.

Joe,

The people who work there have all been pretty good to work with. I was impressed on my first call that they lay out the entire procedure to you, which has changed since then. My first rental required 2 credit cards. One with a $2,000 hold and the other with a $100 hold. Now they only require one CC. They have a shuttle that will pick you up at the airport or your hotel. The time they picked me up at the airport there was no airport charge .

I'm pretty picky about my personal cars and it was nice to see that they're more picky than I am. You don't get a car with water spots and dirty windows. They're IMMACULATE when you pick them up. A guy goes out to the car with you, has you walk around it then you sign a sheet regarding condition of the car when you took it AND tread depth. The guy then tells you about anything you're not familiar with on the car. You're require to bring in your gas receipt to prove you put premium gas in.

On my last rental I had had a car from them my first day, returned it and got a Harley then got a car again for my third day. They worked with me on a multi-day discount for the car AND the bike. The car came with 100 miles a day which they let me split between the 2 days. One of my car rentals had under 100 miles while the other was over but combined I was under 200 so no mileage charge.

If I ever want something fun to drive I won't hesitate to rent from them. I plan to rent another Harley in October.

Thanks Senator, that's exactly what I wanted to know. I was aware that they have been in business a very long time, and was leaning towards them, even though I have seen a Vette for rent near the Fatburger near the MGM, and another near the Peppermill.

I'm thinking about a Corvette hardtop. I've driven the coupe and roadster in the latest body style. I called Rent A Vette and they say they have a red one and a silver one.

Thanks again for the info.

Joe,

If I remember correctly the hardtops are 6-speeds and the other vettes are automatics. I think I also saw a mid 60's vette there as well as a Cobra. They're usually covered.

I mentioned about the cars being really clean. I notice the guy who washes them uses a yard blower to blow the water out of the mirrors and other crevices so they don't get any water running out of them.
