getting from TI to NYNY on foot
getting from TI to NYNY on foot
Just got back from LV and thought I'd share how I got around most of the time. I didn't rent a car this trip, so I had planned to use buses, taxis, etc., but I felt good so I walked a lot. BUT --- not outside<G> hardly at all!
I started at TI, took the tram to Mirage, walked through Mirage and around the corner to the moving walkway at Caesars. Note: you can either go into the Forum Shops or cross over and take the other walkway to the casino. Go through the casino, exit and walk around the side corner (again) to get to the overhead walkway to the Bellagio.
Go through Bellagio and take the tram to Monte Carlo. (this is the best part because it saves a LOT of outside walking!) Go through Monte Carlo to the entrance close to NYNY. Exit out and walk across the street, go down about 1/2 to 1 block to NYNY.

I did this twice, and did parts of the "journey" several times. I never had trouble with either of the trams -- no lines, crowds or long waits. Once, in the early morning (7AM) the tram b/t Treasure Island and Mirage was closed, so I went across the street to the Venetian instead (but that's another post!)

It sure beats walking outside in July in LV! And if you have the time and inclination, it's fun. Of course, you are forced <G> to go THROUGH all the casinos, but that's the price one must pay! (no pun intended)

I never took the tram b/t Bally's and MGM.

Supermom,
Yes, Fred and I know that walk quite well. Can't tell you how many times we've taken that exact route on foot. Usually depends on weather. Nice days we always walked along the water in front of Bellagio and stopped for a spell. It is the nicest place to stop, take in the view, and just relax from the hectic pace of an LV trip. When the weather is nice, it's great to walk outside for a nice change of scenery.

Hope you had a great trip and a lucky one. Will we be seeing a trip report? Hope so.

Beth,
I hope to get a trip report out soon, but it may be a few days as I came home to chaos!

No, I didn't win on this trip (well, I "won" but I deposited it all back at other places<G> ) but I had a great time and I resisted the temptation to hit the ATM machines.

Like you, I enjoy walking around in LV, but everything is so FAR APART you just can't do it all. This time, I limited myself so that I wasn't totally exhausted from my "vacation" like last time!

Supermom,
Did not mean to pressure you on a trip report. Rest, get things in order and then it would be great to hear all about your trip to LV.

Do know about the exhaustion when returning home from an LV trip. As we're on the East coast, we rarely have sleep the first or last day and the bodies never adjust to LV time. Also takes us a while to recuperate. My report this time was much later than usual.

Looking forward to hearing about your fun trip.

Beth
