From August 10 - 16, travelers buying airline tickets to or from Las Vegas or Reno on America West's website will receive discounts on ticket prices by taking a spin on America West's Wheel Of Savings.

When customers spin the wheel, the actual
price of their tickets will be reduced by a discount--10 percent, 15 percent, 25 percent, 30 percent, or 50 percent--whatever is shown when the wheel stops. Additionally, 1,000 FlightFund bonus miles are offered to
customers who purchase tickets via the website. Travel is good through 10/31/99.

Looks as though America West has the idea we people visiting LV are gamblers.<g>

Believe me, if we were planning a trip by that date, I'd take a gamble on it. Wonder what the price is before the spin. That could possibly not make it very worthwhile.

Beth: I was wondering the same thing--what's the price before the spin? It sounds gimmicky.

The spinner probably gets a minimum of 10% off the price. This is what the airlines are offering on their websites these days as an incentive.

The website states that the odds are as follows: 10%--1 in 3; 15% 1 in 3; 25% 1 in 6; 30% 1 in 12; 50% 1 in 12.

Haven't check the rates yet, but the whole concept definitely appeals to the gambler in me!

Out of curiosity I checked a rate leaving Thur. 10/19 and returning Mon. 10/23. The fare before discount is $118.54.
