Lately, I've been hearing more and more about just how bad the traffic situation is and how it is becoming more unbearable to navigate throughout Las Vegas. Truth be known, many who are aware of the problem are also those contributing to the increased traffic and congestion. Do remember hearing a few of you state that on future trips to LV you would like to help the situation.
Let's pretend you were asked to participate on a committee trying to solve the immediate problem. What suggestions would you have? Hope the "locals" will join in here as you have much more insight in day-to-day problems.
The Las Vega "powers that be" have been continually discussing future possibilities. That will take time and large capital expenditures. In the meantime, let's see what all of us can come up with to help with some short-term solutions.
l. Any sneak routes anyone would like to share?
2. Suggestions for additonal shuttles? Point to point for greatest utilization.

Because of the heavy traffic in Las Vegas, we decided some time ago to discontinue the use of a car rental unless needed for a particular sidetrip. Even then, we have resorted to using certain tour companies when possible and convenient.
In addition, I would suggest that all of us who would like to see improvement in the area of shuttles throughout LV, let the casinos know our feelings by adding it to the hotel comment cards. My hope is that eventually they would look at it as a possible solution instead of simply looking at it as a way to lose customers to other competing hotels and casinos. They could be big-time players in helping to solve this problem.
Yes, Sam's Town is also looking to bring more customers to their casino with the shuttle system they operate, but they also are helping their customers find ways to other casinos. They deserve a pat on the back for their input into the traffic problem.

We fly in to vegas, then use cabs and leave the traffic to them. Only one problem about 50% of the time you just close your eyes and hope you get there in one piece.
About six years ago we had our worst cab ride. It was from Excalibur to the airport. The driving, language, blaring radio and downright rudeness were totally out of order.
I'm glad to say everytime since then, except for one inflated fare, we have been very happy with Las Vegas taxi drivers.
As a matter of fact, we recently were told by a bellhop to get out of the taxi if the driver did not reset the meter. She was very aware as we probably would not have even noticed such a thing.
