John,

Thanks for the updated information. This looks as though it may be good news for us. Will be checking into LV flights.

John Sr.: That is good news for the East Coast. I'm surprised National didn't offer PHL as one of the very first cities. Since the airline is subsidized by several casinos, I thought they would have wanted to get the Atlantic City crowd out to LV right from the beginning via New York and Philly, although Lee mentioned that it may have been a gate availability problem that has been the holdup until now.

Do you ever wonder if people who live in Atlantic City get really great Las Vegas offers?

V,
I think Lee Ann and I have gotten better offers from casinos in LV because of our proximity to AC. We feel that our play in LV doesn't warrant the comps we have received; unless it's just our perception because the AC offers are really lame. We overheard a slot host talking to a woman from NewYork City who was on her first trip to LV. He asked her if she frequented AC. When she replied yes, he seemed very interested in her impressions of AC vs. LV

Michael: Just as I suspected! Better LV offers for those close to AC.

Can I use you address and see if *I* get better offers then?

Veronica,
You are welcome to use our address anytime. <vbg> Maybe we should test the theory on our next casino trip. <vbg>

Got this in email today....

Quote:
National Airlines will open its members-only airport lounge, Club National, on October 22nd at Las Vegas McCarran Airport. The Club will feature a relaxing atmosphere, online computer access, dataport hookups for laptops, copy and fax machines, satellite television, complimentary snacks and beverages, free local phone calls, and more. The Club is conveniently located on the rotunda next to National's gates in the ultra-modern Terminal D.

Membership applications are available at any National Airlines ticket counter, National Flight Center in either Harrah's Las Vegas Casino Hotel or the Rio All-Suite Resort Casino, or Club National. Individual annual memberships are $225 and $300 including a spouse. Two-year memberships are $425 and $500 including a spouse. Aside from traditional forms of payment, memberships can be purchased using your National Comps points.

Sign up for Club National by December 31, 1999, and receive a 30% discount off your membership fee.

Now all you East Coast people can stay connected to Talk Vegas in LV, although the membership fee is pretty high, even with a 30% discount. That fee would help pay for a ticket to Las Vegas!

V,
Any mention of slot machines inside the national lounge?
Actually 30% off brings down the price to $210 per year per couple. Which really isn't out of line at all. Only trouble is, if they are only going to have that one lounge, unless you travel to Las vegas frequently, it will be hard to justify the purchase.

Lee: In your case, that's a no-brainer! <g> So hurry and buy the lounge membership.

Would slot machines even be allowed in private lounges at the airport? I don't know the Nevada regulations on that one.

V,
I was thinking more for you, to join. You don't do too shabby of a job of getting your butt out to Vegas often either! LOL
Heck I haven't even flown National yet!
