Gail,
Thank you so much for getting that information for me. I really appreciate you taking the time to do it.
I checked the CAT web site concerning reduced fares and what is required and this is what I found in case anyone else needs the infomation.
"You must present a valid Reduced Fare Photo Identification Card from CAT or another transit agency to purchase a one-way reduced fare ride and/or use a reduced fare pass. Elibible riders may apply for a CAT reduced fare photo-id card at the Downtown Transportation Center at 300 N. Casino Center Dr. There is a $2 fee to obtain a card. If you are eligible, the card will be mailed to you within two weeks. The following forms of identification will be honored to prove eligibility:
Seniors will need a valid driver's license
or non-dirver photo-id card issued by the
Department of Motor Vehicles
Persons under the age of 16 will need a
Birth Certificate, valid driver's license
or non-driver ID card issued by the
Department of Motor Vehicles.
Disabled applicants will need a Medicare
card or a signed letter (original document
only) from a physician stating the
individual is disabled and the length of
the disability accompanied by a valid
driver's license or non-driver ID card
issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles.
OR valid reduced fare eligibility cards
from another transit system which verify
disability or age."
From this I would say that it is only worth getting the reduced fare card if you make several trips to Las Vegas a year, since you must go in person to apply for the card and then it will be sent to you. Guess I should have checked the web site more thoroughly.
Thanks again Gail for checking. I appreciate your help.
