Maybe this is old news, but I just found out that Avis no longer has any off-airport counters in any of the hotels.

Outside of Hertz, are there any other car rental counters at Strip hotels?

I know Dollar was at Monte Carlo and Excalibur. Do not know whether that has changed.

It's been over a year ago since I saw it but allstate had a counter at thr Riv.
Also Budget has an office in the shopping center in front of Polo Towers.

The Avis thing is old news, actually. They moved from Bally's to Caesars stayed there for approx. 1 yr. and closed the last casino outlet they had over a year ago. They do however have non-airport locations in Las vegas, but they are not in or close to any Casino's, strip or downtown.
Dollar is in the Hilton, but it's 49.99 a day for a compact car. The price goes up from there.
National only has the Airport location, I know that.
Hertz is at Harrah's and the DI, but you have to call for reservations.

Veronica - Practical has a rental place next to the MGM. Currently they are charging 19.95 a day for a compact. If you're interested I'll find their number and send it to you.

Thank you, everyone, for all your help. I have a couple of coupons from American for a free weekend day which were included with FF tickets used this year, and I'm trying to figure out if I can use them on the next couple of trips. The only car rental companies the coupons are good for are now limited to Alamo, Avis, National, and Thrifty. Too bad, because I know Hertz used to be included in the list for the free day.

Joyce: I have the Practical number, but thanks very much anyway.

Lee: My original post came from an Avis agenting saying their only location is now at the airport, but their web site says there is one at 4670 W Sahara. I also called and verified that, and that is correct. Anyone know where on Sahara Avis is?

Veronica, the Avis location should be located between Arville and Decater (according to my trusted mapping program<g> ).
