Effective March 1, a cab ride will cost an extra 10 cents a mile when taxi cab rates will rise to $1.60, the first increase in seven years. This rate increase will affect all taxi cab companies in Clark County.

The average ride, according to the Taxicab Authority, is three miles long, which would add 30 cents to most cab rides.

Oh well, so it's 30 cents more on the meter, and 30 cents less in the tip. Works for me!
