Just had a flight alert from Travelocity.com Round trip from Det to Las $178. Only problem they send you all over ...Det to Cleveland to somewhere to Las Vegas. If you don't mind all the stops, its a good price.

Carol, I don't know what the regular airfare prices are, but I do know that from Cleveland you don't save much on these deals and you spend twice the time getting to Las Vegas. For a little more I always use the direct flights. I have some friends that recently booked airfare through priceline and spent 12 hours getting from Las Vegas to Cleveland. The direct flight takes 4 hours.

John, know what you mean. Took Southwest when NW was on strike a few years ago. Flew all day....lost valuable gambling/sun time! We pay the extra too!

I always love the low price but I aggree you have to watch for the hidden delays and wrong way flying (heading East to a hub to fly West).
They have a deal on Continetal out of Kansas City for $158. The problem is you fly all the way to Houston, then on to Las Vegas. You don't get off the plane in Houston so your stuck in your seat for something over 6 hrs. For $20 more I can take a shorter route. Even with the layover, it's only a little over 4 hrs. Plus I can move about an airport a little with the layover.

To date, I've booked two time with priceline and recieved good flights. In fact, they were flights I had looked at booking anyway, only at a higher price. I guess the old saying of sometimes you get the bear, sometimes the bear gets you holds true when trying to get the cheap tickets.

Doug, that is the one thing I worry about with Priceline, I don't want those bad lay-overs or wrong-way flying.
I'm glad to hear your having great success with them, I just doubt it is for me. Don't know if your married or not, but when travel plans go wrong, wife always blames me. I don't need the headaches! <s>
