Someone mentioned somewhere that they got a really good rate from Affinity. I went to travelnow (never heard of this site before). The rental rate for January was listed at $13.99 a day. I tried to book it, but they said the provider was unavailable - this has happened to me before with Affinity. Anyone ever used them or know anything about them? I went to your "Car Rental" site listed below this BB, and everything company was there except Affinity. Do you know their 800 number?

I can find no listing of an 800 contact number for Affinity car rental.
I even called information, and they said no such listing. She did however say that some companies do have an 800 number but choose to have them unlisted. Almost doesn't seem to make sence....does it?

Last three trips with Affinity (web branch of US Car Rental) went smooth. Easier than Alamo and closer. Also have upgraded without asking each time. Must not have many economy cars on lot.

The number for Affinity is 800-761-7787.

So why was I told by information that one does not exist fo Affinity?

I have no clue why you were told there was no 800 number, but I got lucky and found the web site and phone number on my first search. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the web site shows up on the links list on the TalkVegas home page any day now. [img]http://www.talkvegas.com/ubb/smile.gif[/img]

TalkVegas has the listing up now, however I am very suspicious of this company. You won't catch me using this comapny any time soon, and I love to gamble.

This company and their website raise many more questions than answers to questions. I'm not impressed at all, and would gladly pay a few dollars more for a legit company.

When dealing with major car rental companies, it pays to shop for price, compare trip reports regarding customers service, and go for the best deal. I highly suspect that if you deal with Affinity, you'll get exactly what you pay for, which is a poorly managed division of a cheap travel company.

When companies don't list thier 800 number, local addresses, local phone numbers, etc., BEWARE!

Like car insurance. U have XYZ Company, it's cheap, U have an accident, they offer U pennys for your damage also.
What would happen if U had an accident with their car, would they make it difficult if you used a card that had coverage, would they make U pay first and collect later?
Spend the xtra 10 and go with Dollar ( my pref), or Alamo. They're both very reasonable now also. I got a dollar rental this weekend, 10/28, for a week for $86 plus taxes. I also have a $10 coupon they gave from my last rental to apply. $96 Total and no Cab driver or Grey lines to pay or hassle with.

For my money, I'm sticking with what works for me. A while back I was turned on to National's Emerald club, and have not been sorry.
I know now other car companys also offer perfured treatment, like National's Emerald Club, but I'm still sticking with what works best for me.
It's a vacation people, I do not need extra problems or hassels, just because, I wanted to save $10. Sometimes it's just not worth it.

I'll add one more gripe about Affinity; I did play with the web site, and it annoyed me to be asked to provide my info so that they could contact me with a rate. I want the rate info at MY convenience, not theirs. They are not the only ones to do this, and my response is always the same ...I shop elsewhere.

I called Affinity's 800# after you added it to your list below. They immediately gave me the rate of $78 per week (we're going to be there 5 days). Adding tax that comes to $17 a day inclusive. The man I talked to was very nice and also sent me a fax to verify the reservation. He said that if their van is not outside I should call a LV 800#, which he gave me, and they will come right away. The name of their company is US Rent A Car. On another BB someone said they used them and everything went fine. Their office is very small and only staffed with 2 people so if a lot of people are in there at the same time you could end up waiting.
I also have a Dollar car at $25 a day for the same time period. If I can't get thru for any reason to Affinity at the airport I'll go to Dollar.

When searching for the 1-800 number, you would probably need to ask for US Rentals. Affinity is just the booking company.

We used them in July, got a great rate and we're upgraded for free. My only complaint is that they are not set up for large numbers of renters to hit the counter all at the same time. Otherwise they are as good a company as any to rent with. This one is not a gamble.

Generally I've been able to rent with them through the Travelocity web site.
