Air fare rates have just dropped. I checked on a continental flight that has been reduced over $200 rt. There is an article in USA Today regarding the reduced rates. So, if you need cheap airfare, now is the time to go shopping.

American droped its rates due to a reduction in business travel. Trying to make up for the loss, (and keep their stock from crashing) they lowered their leisure rates in hopes of increased vacation travel. NW and Continental followed suit. Look for the best deals to be in the Fall. They will hold off great Winter rates until they are convinced the economy isn't going to pick up then reluctantly cave in to real low prices to keep the cash flow coming.
This is good news for us leisure people. Especially if the fuel prices stabilize.
