Airtran is going to add Las Vegas to their destinations, starting June 10.
I believe all of the Vegas flights will originate at their Atlanta hub. So anyone within reasonable distance might want to check them out.
I flew them to Orlando and planes (new 717's) and crew were great, also their performance in rebooking us quickly and smoothly when a flight was cancelled was excellent.
I saw that they appeared on Orbitz with flights out of Boston to Las Vegas. Thats good news even though it means going from Boston to Atlanta and then onto Vegas.
There is speculation that Jet Blue is looking for space in Boston and that Massport is look to accomodate them. That would be good news, too.

JetBlue came to Rochester last year and now has many fans here.
I haven't had a chance to try them yet. Given the choice I'd rather drive 50 miles to Buffalo and fly Southwest nonstop to Las Vegas. Haven't done that yet, either - still trying to use up FF miles while we have them
Of course a FF ticket to Vegas usually means planning way, way in advance doesn't it?
Has anyone out there every scored a FF ticket to Vegas on relatively short notice?
Kestal, I have done a short notice flight to Vegas on FF miles. The trick is, you have to be extremly flexible on your travel dates. Forget weekend travel!!!
Kestral: In January, I got a FF ticket just three days ahead of travel. I decided at the last minute to do a slot tournament. It was on AmericaWest. They didn't even charge a fee for being so close to the travel date like some of the airlines do. I was surprised. Also surprised that I was able to get the ticket in the first place. Non-stops both ways also.

Wow, Lee and Susan, that gives me hope. I don't always have much notice for time off, and I never have lots o'cash for the last minute high price tickets.
Guess I'll start dreaming and haunting the rezzie sites!
