Here's a list of PUBLIC tournaments (no invitation required--you just sign up ahead of time or show up and take your chances there is a spot for you.) On one trip I went to the Santa Fe and entered the VP tournament, coming in second place. I think I won about $125, so not bad for such a cheap buy-in. Anyone else here done any of these tournaments before?

V, I played in the Rio's daily VP tournament once. Won 3 free buffets. I don't think they have this anymore.

I played in a poker tournament at the Casablanca in Mesquite last year. $20 buy-in got you in the tournament plus 2 free buffets and a free night. I was staying in a suite and they took one night off the bill [img]http://www.talkvegas.com/ubb/smile.gif[/img].

These can be a lot of fun and very cheap entertainment. Thanks for starting the post.

I played in a slot tournament at the Rio. All you did was hit the button as fast as you could and whoever had the "hot" machine was the winner. I didn't win anything. I like vp tournaments better since there is some skill involved. You are right that they are fun and cheap entertainment. Who knows, you might win a lot of money.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Bally's have a daily slot tournament?
And doesn't the Fiesta have multi tornments too? Or are they only on invite only or something like that.
I've been in the Bally's Daily tournament many times. Won 500 about 5 years ago, while Sue sat close by and drank all the free wine! LOL Then we all needed a nap after that one! LOL
Harrah's used to have a daily one too. But been long discontiued. We each won t-shirts on that one! LOL

Fiesta has tournaments, but not on the weekends.

As far as I know, the list I posted of "daily" tournaments is up to date. There used to be a longer list of daily tournaments not that long ago.
