Triple-Play Video Poker
  Triple-Play Video Poker
I am interested in everyone's comments on Triple-Play. I started playing it last New years and loved it.

Also, has anyone seen Triple-Play for the home computer?

Ed,

On Bob Dancer's Win Poker, you can set the option for Four Play, but cannot for triple play. Our Video Poker Tutor cannot be set for triple play either. Maybe someone will answer and tell us whether they know of a newer version with triple play.

I have version 5.0 of Bob Dancer's Win Poker, and I have the option to set it for triple play. My version came through the LVA ad, and I purchased it around Jan 99.

Believe I've been incorrectly stating that it's Bob Dancer's Win Poker. It's Zamzows and Bob Dancer markets it from what I understand.

Thanks for the information. I'll have to check it out from Zamzows. I always like to practice on the computer. It's a lot cheaper.

I am still interested to here what people think of Triple-play.

Ed,

Sorry I did not answer your original quuestion. I enjoy playing triple play, but money goes so fast on quarters if you don't get a hit early.

Did enjoy playing triple play nickels at Mandalay Bay for many hours. Found that there was a big difference with those as to which particular game a person was playing. We had more luck with double, double bonus than any. Fred, my husband, hit for $200 on the nickel tr. play at Mandalay Bay on DDB. I just played longer.....no big wins for me.

Since there were only about a dozen machines, it was tough getting a seat the times we played. I just sat down one time and a lady came by and said, "Are you going to sit there all day"? Her tone was very sarcastic. That told me someone must have thought they were "hot" machines.

Also played quarter triple play at Monte Carlo in March, but won very little. The man sitting next to me from Indiana left with some nice wins. He was playing full coin(15 quarters). I was not. Since then, when I play nickels or quarters, I like to go full pay. If I don't win a good pot early, it turns out to be a rather short vp session.

Also played nickels at Excalibur.

Never did find any full-pay nickel or quarter triple plays in casinos on the strip.
Possibly they could be found in some "local" casinos.

Ed,
I played some triple play $1.00 at New York, New York. I put in a hundred and lasted about an hour. I had a great time and racked up a lot of points.

Beth, I'd have to agree with you on the Triple Play double double bonus. I only plays nickels on this game, but I've had luck up to the point of the four aces with a kicker. Deuces has NOT been kind here<g>.

BTW, we're all coming across kinda cheap here; Hal & I spotted some $5 Triple Play machines at the California. $75 per play is just a wee bit too rich for my blood ...and I've yet to see anyone else playing that denomination either.

Daisy,

I like to make my money last with the length of our visits to LV. If I were ever to play $5 triple play, we'd be leaving probably much sooner than anticipated. I'm usually able to hang in there pretty good if I consistently play $.25.

Ed--Triple Play is so much fun, that it's hard to go back to single play. My husband has actually won a reasonable on these machines--on the full pay 10/7 DB at The Orleans, and on the short-pay DDB & DW at Caesars. They do have some full pay .25 machines on the strip at Barbary Coast--their triple plays have 9/6 JOB. I've never seen full-pay nickles on the strip, but I love to play the nickle triple-play. (Even played nickle 5-play at the Luxor and they had 10-play!). I hear that Reserve has full-pay triple play nickles. Going to check that out in October. Good luck.

Beth, it sounds like we're on the same page; I also want my entertainment budget to last a while.

FWIW, I have strolled through the high rollers area at Caesars Tahoe....I just had to see the $500 slots there. No, I didn't leave out the decimal<g>....they have two 2-coin $500 slots there and 3 or 4 $100 VP machines too. I have yet to see anyone playing them<g>.

Thanks to everyone that replyed.

I can see I'm not the only one that enjoys them. I have done pretty good over all, even hit a royal on a nickel machine.

I still cannot believe anyone would play a $5 machine. Thats a little rich for my blood.

Interesting to see where the video poker marker is going.

Thanks again for the replys.

Ed, while walking through the MGM in April I saw a lady waiting to be paid after hitting a royal on all 3 lines of the triple play machine. I assume this was dealt to her and she did not draw to it.

John, I'm waiting for the day that happens to me, a delt to royal. But I'd much rather have it on a ten times machine!

Lee, since I'm the one that has never had a royal, I'd take it on ANY machine.

A triple royal would be nice. I've seen three people being paid on a triple royal. One in Vegas and two in Canada. I've hit four royals in Vegas (one on triple play and three on regular VP).

Being delt a royal on triple play would be great! Makes it easy to decide what to hold. With my luck I probably would forget to hold a card.

I love the triple play machines and can say that my own experience is that you usually win or lose quickly. I recall my best session on triple play was at Harrahs earlier this year, playing double double bonus, and was dealt 4 dueces. On the draw, I landed a side Ace on one of the hands, making a total of 2,800 coins. Nice game when you are dealt a winning hand. I did see a royal flush dealt on one of these at the Rio.
