When I used to play video poker at the Frontier Casino, I thought it was a nice gesture when a slot host would appear at my side from out of the blue, and offer me a
meal comp. Their system, of course, knows
all about you and your play, and exactly where you are in the casino. The practice
is/was good PR, in my view.

Dick: That happened to me at the Desert Inn in January. The host came out and found me on the VP machine to make sure everything was OK after we had arrived so late into LV because of bad weather. I thought that was really nice to show some concern, as I had called when we got stuck and said we would be late getting in due to storms.

Before the strike at the Frontier, we'd always visit and play there.
But the strike killed the place. While we did cross the picket line a time or two, we never stayed long. A great many of the friendly faces left when all the problems began.
When did you stay there?

Re Orleans slots: The last time I stayed there I played some VP. I noticed that I DID accumulate points while playing. Someone mentioned that they use a combination of coins played adn coins cashed out.

I agree that a point should be a point. As far as cashing in points for cpoms at the slot desk, I think that it does work like that. I think the difference would be in offers you get thru the mail for promotions for rooms.
