I don't play 'em, but maybe I should start. These jackpot totals sure look good...

V,
That quarter, Wheel of Furtune looks like the best play by far!

Jeff: You'd better believe it!

Good thing my daughter is nowhere near LV any time soon. WOF is her favorite game.

V,
That's my buddy Chuck's favorite too. He won a couple hundred bucks in quarters when we came out of the Star Trek Exp last year.

Veronica:
A friend and I read the Strictly Slots and Casino Player mags and always get a little frustrated when we read the winners pages. It seems like there is always a few people who 'just put in $10', or 'I was only playing for 5 minutes' when they hit the big one! We have resolved to only playing the progressives while we are walking by with a few extra coins in our pocket! Ya never know <VBG>!

I know the odds are very much against hitting these mega-jackpots. On the other hand, they are occasionally hit. I always allow just a small portion of my gambling budget to play these. Many people will play a slot machine like Blazing 7's for $3 a spin and a top jackpot of $1,500. Why not take just a few dollars and run it through Megabucks instead? I always go to Caesars and run $20 through the quarter Cool Millions machines. Surprisingly, there have been a couple times when I've played well over an hour on one of these machines for $20. I would not suggest playing large progressives over regular machines, but I think they should be considered in addition to regular machines.

Gregg, I agree with you. I always try the big jackpot machines for a few dollars.
I'm not sure where the quarter machines are at Caesars that you refer to, but I'll look for them on my next trip. remember the old saying,
"no guts no glory"<G>

Pam: What do you think about "Strictly Slots" magazine? Maybe I was missing something, but the one complimentary copy I received when I was a subscriber to Casino Player I thought was fairly worthless.

CP I was never fond of either for the one year I received it.

Just my opinion! But I'd like to hear others' opinions on these gambling magazines.

Gregg,
I agree and disagree with you. The reason people play slots like Blazing 7's is because of the hit frequency. I've sat at tables where a bank of B7's was visible and seen multiple jackpot winners. I've NEVER seen anyone hit a jackpot on one of the big payoff machines. I'm not saying I don't play the big ones, I'm more likely to run $20-$21 thru one of them then the others. But I certainly understand why people play the others.

I like your question so much, I'm going to post it as a topic.
