You get 1 American Airlines mile for every 2 points earned at the MGM Grand when playing slots or video poker. Just be an MGM Grand slot club member, be sure to provide your American Airlines Aadvantage account number at the slot club desk so it can be put in the record, and use your slot club card every time you play a machine so that your play can be recorded and points tracked.

You don't need to be a hotel guest to earn AA miles.

Is the MGM still one of the places that require you to earn qualifying points, before they will issue you a real slot card?
I know the Golden Nugget still does this, and the Luxor used to do it, as well as the MGM.
Trouble is with these type systems, I always either have a terrible session when I'm trying to qualify, or I loose my card.

It's been three years since we signed up for a MGM card, but at that time we were given a regular card right away. I don't know if they have changed their policy since that time.

Lee: I checked with MGM, and you do not have to accumulate any points before qualifying for their slot club. You just sign up for the slot club and you're in.

The slot club host also told me, "...and our casino is open 24 hours a day". <g>

I don't like the qualifing card thing, and that's the way they did it when they first opened up. I never went to the trouble of checking back later, because MGM is one of the few, I don't gamble in.
Thanks for the info, maybe on our next trip, I'll give it a whirl again, and test the waters! <s>
