I think Casino greed will remain a influence.
Even now you see casino signs promoting 1 and 2 deck games.
Everybody wants more business.
But, for the mega-toilets with the unsuspecting tourist, why not, it speeds up the game.
Rest assured, the 1 and 2 deck hand held will not disappear.

Rick, I tend to disagree!

I believe that all the "good deals" Las Vegas presently offers will slowly fade away.

I am already starting to see this "fade out" because the leading hotel/casinos are getting fat and happy with a new breed of tourist who has money in his pocket and a sense of adventure and a firm misunderstanding of just what is a "good deal" for his gambling dollar.

As long as these occupany rates remain high and the casinos show a profit the hotels will continue to chip away at the "good deal" granite block.

It may not yet be totally evident but just take a few moments and look back at the recent increase in prices to see the major shows and a night at a better restaurant.

A few years back, a $100 a night Las Vegas hotel room was unheard of, a first class buffet never exceeded $2.99, single deck blackjack was the only BJ game in town, and when you wanted a smoke - they gave you a pack and lit it with a Ronson lighter.

Things change!
And seldom for the better!
Unless you want an argyle sweater!

Will,
The Casinos have and do change, BUT I don't think the old staples like basic BJ, craps, and roulette will change. They have tried in the past with no success. Even full pay VP tends to creep out and in, as there is always someone (not the mega-resorts) looking to improve their traffic.
Shoes have been around for quite a while now. I'm sure they were brought in to counter the card counter and improve speed, but most casinos still feature 2 decks and some even one deck.
However, this would be a boom to Casinos such as my neighbor's in Connecticut, where you play what they have, and they do have a decent BJ game, even with 6 and 8 decks.

We can only hope that the competition from casinos in other states and internet gambling will keep the traditional games from being phased out in Las Vegas.

But I just remembered something else...those coinless slots waiting in the wings! Let
