I received an e-mail asking several questions about VP. The person wanted to know what DB, DDB, 6/9, 5/7, full pay, and payout meant. I'm going to post the answers I gave here in case anyone wants to add anything.

DB is Double Bonus.
DDB is Double double bonus. These both are talking about the payout for 4 of a kind. They will include a higher payout for four 2's, 3's or 4's. An even higher payout for four A's. And an even higher payout for four aces with a 2,3,or 4.
6/9 is the payback, per coin bet for a flush and full house on a JOB (jacks' or better) machine. This is an example of a 'full pay' machine. 6/9 is the best payback you'll normally find on a JOB game. Many pay back 5/8 or 5/7 which are 'short paybacks". 10/7 is a similar number to help identify another type of 'full pay' machine. I think it's for double bonus.

On most VP machines you can bet from 1-5 coins of whatever denomination it is. The payback is simply multiplied by the number of coins you bet. The exception to this is the royal flush. With 5 coins in, you get 16 times the payout of a one coin bet. This is normally 4,000 coins. This is the reason you're far ahead to play 5 coins in a quarter machine instead of a single coin in a dollar machine
