Question (just for fun)
What is the most $$$ you've won on the smallest amount of $$$ played?

I played $10 on a $1 slot and cashed out a few minutes later with $280. (can ya tell Im a big gambler...LOL). That was a big enough jackpot for me..hehe

Just stopped at the local casino cause I was passing by. Put $10 in a quarter slot and ran it up to 200 credits. Cashed those in and took the $50 in half dollars. Went to a Stampede 50 cent slot and hit an $800 jackpot. Played a few minutes longer and left up $735 in 40 minutes.
Here's another one, I drove my wife and neighbor lady to a convention and while they were off on a bus trip for three hours I decided to go to a nearby casino. I got a slot card and then went to the Elvis machines that were close by. Tried to put a $20 in 3 machines but they wouldn't accept it. The fourth machine accepted the 20 and the first spin I hit for $500 and took the money and ran. This was last September. Last weekend the wife and I were going by the same casino and stopped. I put 3 quarters in the same Elvis machine and hit for 10 credits and the next 3 quarters I hit it again for $500. Took the money and ran again. It's all just plain LUCK!

W.A.,

At the old Harolds Club in Reno my wife was playing a standard 3 reel where the jackpot figures were miners with a shovel. I wanted to go play the VP and told her that these things don't ever hit and it's a waste of time. She said just a minute while I finish the coins I have. So I reached down and took three of her coins and put them into the machine next to hers. Of course you've already guessed---three miners with shovels and $1000.

At the craps table at the Rio I bought in for $100. Left 40 minutes later with $2000.

I've had some nice short runs on BlackJack but they all seem to take awhile. Probably quickest hit, was Harrahs a couple years back. Sat at the sports bar to play some quarter VP, put in a $20, before the bartender could make my drink I was face to face with my first progressive royal and my first W2-G. $175 in dimes at the DI on one of my first Vegas trips was the most disappointing jackpot I ever hit. Dimes just don't have the right sound shooting out of the machine into the tray. I forgot if I had 3 or 5 dimes in that machine.

I guess a loaded 25 cent machine royal for $1200 is a bigger ratio, but it made some noise, got some fanfare, and was a big deal.

Hal put a nickel into a Boom machine in the Fiesta and lined up 5 booms on the center line and won $150. That was only a few weeks ago.

During my last trip in Sept. It was my last day. I was just starting my gambling for the day. I walked into Luxor. Sat down at a progressive pai gow poker table. Put up my $10 bet and my $1 bonus bet. The first hand of the day. I got a Straight flush. I won $1,000. It did take 1/2 hour to get paid, because they had to review the tape. That was awesome!

Best win on the least invested, was in Aruba, playing 3 coins on a .25 cent machine, for about 20 minutes and winning 10,000 quarters.

Jen - What a great topic!! I loved reading all of these stories but I got the biggest kick out of VPBOB and especially Daisy with the 70 cent Keno ticket! How funny!

I don't have any good ones about myself other than putting $100 in a $5 DB machine and on the third max play hit I got 4 jacks for $1,250.

My favorite story is a friend of mine who was with me and a few others on a trip. He doesn't gamble and was just watching us play the machines. Well, he found a cup of quarters that had $37.00 in it! I always wondered how to calculate the odds of betting zero and winning $37.00!

The most I've won on the smallest investment was turning $5 into $300 on a quarter video poker machine. Kept hitting 4-of-a-kinds and cashed out when the credits reached 1200 coins. I've had much larger wins, but not on $5.

Mike, I've also hit $2400 on a $1 keno ticket (same numbers), but I figured my winning percentage was higher on the 70 cent ticket. My brother smashed my family keno record last year, but he plays keno almost exclusively, and I only play when eating in front of a keno board<g>.

My most satisfying big win was $1758 on a progressive $1 slot at Binion's back in 1990. The satisfying part was that I had intended to play one of about 5 or 6 machines that appeared to be vacant, but I got rather rudely chased off by a jerk that was playing every machine on that side. So I took my $20 to the other side of the carousel and hit the progressive within a few seconds. I really wanted to go back and thank the man. I had my best BJ run that same day, ran $20 up to $640 at the Barbary Coast. I was supposed to be in class that afternoon, but I couldn't afford to stop gambling<vbg>.

LOL My husband would like to share his "quick fortune" story.

Last June we were heading home from Vegas but stopped at Buffalo Bill's so my husband, brother and his friend could ride the coaster.

Well, my brother's friend went to the restroom and came back, I turned around and hubby was gone so brother and his friend went on the coaster without him. About 5mins later hubby shows up with his prized treasure..a whopping $5 in nickels..hahaha,

Turned my back and he slipped 3 nickels he had in his otherwise empty pockets and hit that big $5 "JACKPOT".

As you can guess, I have the better "luck" in Vegas hahaha.

WildAngel, Can you feel the casino bosses patting you on the shoulder, while voting you their favorite visitor? What a great subject. It puts their cliental in the proper frame of mind before visting a casino. The message is, "Winning is easy. Everyone can be a winner." I don't think they'd be too happy with a topic entitled, What are your biggest losses in the shortest amount of time?
Depressssssing. Your topic is lots more fun.

The stories you all are telling here are a riot. We'd all like to identify with them. The biggest winner really was the guy who got $37 and never gambled a penny. Daisy - your wins on Keno are unbelievable. I never play Keno. Didn't anyone ever tell you that it's a bad bet? LOL.

My easiest win was walking down an aisle at Excaliber to meet my hubby for lunch, and popping in one quarter into a machine I was passing. I hit the big jacpot for about $350. Remember I only played one quarter, so it was a good return on my money.

Joyce, I swear those same keno numbers stopped hitting when I found out exactly how bad a bet it is. However, I do keep playing when I can see the keno board when sitting in coffee shops or buffets ....I don't want to see MY numbers hit without me<g>.

My best have been:

1) At the Ramada in Laughlin, had $5 invested in a .25 cent Keno machine, hit 7 of the 8 numbers I picked and it payed $1652. The 8 numbers I picked all ended in "5", I picked that column of numbers just for the hell of it, no significant reason and it paid off.

2) At the Gold River in Laughlin, at the Bacarrat table, bought in for $100 and left the table a couple of hours later with $1200.

3) At Sam's Town, bought in for $100 at a crap table, left the table with $2000 about an hour later.

4) At Sam's Town I doubled my per diem one day. My employer advanced me $600 for travel expenses to Oklahoma City, I stopped at Sam's Town on the way home and played craps, left the table 1/2 hour later with $1200, that made the trip to OKC a little more pleasant.

5) At Boulder Station I had $15 in a .25 video poker machine when I hit the Royal for $1200 and a green Boulder Station jacket. Only held the King of Hearts, it delt me the other four for the Royal.

6) Again at Boulder Station, same night as the Royal, 20 minutes later, playing $1 dueces wild, had $50 in the machine when I hit the 4 dueces for $1000.

7) The night of my 40th birthday, at Barley's Casino & Brewery in Henderson Of Course bought in for $100 at a Blacjack table and left it three hours later with $1500.

8) Also at Barley's I won a 45" Big Screen RCA in a drawing during the Superbowl, the only investment was the food and beer I consumed while watching the game.

9) At Sunset Station we play the "Great Giveaway" football contest every year. Over the last four seasons we have invested $300 in entry money and have taken back $1900 so for, that averages out to a $400 a season win.

10) A couple of weeks ago in Reno at The Nugget, wife and I had $20 each in a pair of .25 VP mahines next to each other. 20 minutes later we cashed out $375 from the two machines. Went back to those same two machines several hours later that night and won another $100 on them.
