   One man hopper fill.
   One man hopper fill.
When I cashed out of a 50cent VP machine at the Stardust this last trip I needed a hopper fill. A person came over fairly quickly, unlocked a cabinet underneath the machine, took out a bag of coins, opened up the machine, dumped in the coins, and closed everything up. He did this all by himself in a matter of seconds. My jaw dropped as I don't recall ever seeing coins taken from below the machine, or coins added with only one casino person around.

Mike,
I've seen the same thing happen atthe Fremont already too.
I've also seen single person hopper fills at quite a few casinos, it's the hand pays there is always a second person present.

I asked a hopper-filler why he was waiting for someone else to be present when he filled my machine at Texas Station, and he said it was to prevent him from pouring the nickels in my purse. So I guess it is a casino rule, not Nevada law.
Main Street Station also stores the bags of coins under the machines, but they also have two people present during a fill-up.

Every hopper fill that I've ever seen has had two people present. Usually there is the attendant who gets the coins and then a change person comes around to verify the fill and sign a slip of paper.

Mike,

We also had one person hopper fills at Sam's this trip. Does make it nice. Heard them saying they were short personnel....no less on a Friday night...so that may have been the reason. Did not pay attention any other day.
