   Unprofitable trip
   Unprofitable trip
We just got home today from our first trip in many months to LV. And boy, we had a great time, but our gambling luck was very discouraging. We were losers with a capital L. No matter where we went, or what we played, we just kept donating to the LV economy. Does anyone else ever have trips like this?

YES!

I've had trips where I couldn't pick the winner of a one horse race! I know the feeling....you just keep telling yourself "it's got to get better tomorrow"...and it never does!

I feel your pain! <G> But in spite of it all, we still have a fun trip. That above all other things, is why I love Vegas so much. I've never regretted a LV trip.

YES! YES! YES! YES! YES!

Get the point?<G>

I had a trip where I lost every sportsbook bet I placed over a seven day period. That was probably 25-30 bets.

I have also had trips where I got hammered the first night and then went downhill from there.

The secret is to have a daily budget for gambling and when you lose it, find something else to do. That way you lose only what you can afford to part with.

That is why I do my gambling at night. If I lose I can have a few drinks and go to bed. I don't have to find something to do for the rest of the day like the person that loses all his daily budget by 2pm.
If I do gamble during the day, I will look for nickle machines so I don't get hammered.

Gail - If you go back and read my trip report from last November, you'll see you're not the only one who has had rotten luck on a trip. My trip was so bad, it bordered on disasterous! Sorry you had bad luck - hopefully, it will only get better! --Mike

Yes, of course. It happens to all of us. That statement alone makes me (at least) feel somewhat pathetic in that my idea of "fun" is going and losing money. <g> Anyone know a destination where we can all win?

It is pretty funny that Las Vegas is the only place where you can have a good time throwing away money. As I always tell my husband, at least when I go shopping, I have something to show for it.

Gail A.,
You have a point but....over the years however, I'd rather have the memories then a closet full of stuff that no longer fits or is out of style.
Those enjoyable memories, always fit, and never go out of date.

Joyce,

Excuse my answering for Lee as I know he's working hard today.<G>

M2C stands for "My two cents" and saves a few keystrokes.<s>
