While checking out some sites where individuals can enter vp tournaments and slot tournaments(free) by various casinos, the following announcement was listed where The Orleans once had a spot:

We are sorry, but the Nevada Gaming Control Board has required that we discontinue our online contest. This is in response to the state attorney general's office ruling that casinos could not offer customers prizes based on the results of an Internet casino game, even if cash was never wagered by the customer.

However, River Palms and Riverside in Laughlin still are operating, as is the Gold Coast. Is Laughlin not covered by the Nevada Gaming Control Board? Why The Orleans and not the Gold Coast owned by the same company?

Is wagerworks being used by MGM/Mirage to circumvent the law?

Are all the others still operating, or did they close down now too?
It would seem odd that the Orleans would close but the Gold Coast is still active.
I don't get involved with the free internet games, so I really don't know what was there and what is now gone.
