I was giving my secretary and her girlfriend Blackjack lessons at lunch today (they're heading for LV tomorrow and staying at the IP). When I was doing some practice hands, we encountered a situation where I'm never sure what to do:

I'm showing a 12, the dealer is showing a 2 or a 3. Hit or stand?

The blackjack cheat sheet I carry says to hit. However, I once took a blackjack lesson from Richard Cousins who told me to stand in these cases.

What do the experts at TalkVegas.com think about this?

Mike, always hit the 12 against the dealer's 2 or 3.

I vote with the experts on this one, but I also like to hit a 13 against a dealers 2 or 3 (assuming a decent card count). [img]http://www.talkvegas.com/ubb/smile.gif[/img]

Everything I have ever read says to hit 12 against dealer 2 or 3. However, I swear that the player's hand ALWAYS has a magnet attached to a ten in the deck which ALWAYS shows up when you do hit the 12. <g>
