   What do you PLAY
   What do you PLAY
Reading another thread, I got to thinking...What does everyone play, here on TALKVEGAS?

I'll write my list in a somewhat favorite order, and maybe a couple of reasons why that game trips my trigger. I'm ofcourse interested in what everyone else is playing, but also the reasons. smile smile smile

#1 Video Poker
a. Dueces Wild, It keeps you in the game on a modest bankroll
b. Double Double Bonus Poker, This game can chew up a bank roll quickly, but the winns are more exciting, I'll go to this after bordom sets in on Dueces Wild
c. Treasure Chest Poker (Boyd only), It's the unknown, the chance of winning more then a royal on a 4 of a kind hand. (it's happend only twice to me) or just beating the dreaded 140 credits it's lowest win will serve you. It's a game within a game.

#2. Slots (reel slots), I know, I'm kinda old fashion here. I enjoy Double Dimond (Sharons influence on me), and those Wheel of Fourtune slots, Blazzing 7's, 5 times machines & Double Dragons (AC only, TRUMP). With the exception of WOF, all these are fairly frequent payers, the jackpot isn't so high that you have a chance of hitting it in one session.

#3. Video slots, Hot Hot Penny, Those Dam Lumberjack beavers, S&H Green Stamps, Big wheel of fourtune, Jackpot Party, & monopoly. (trying to get the bonus play) hit it quick and quit!

#4. CaveMan Keno, 7 number card full load played. This would be (as daisy sayz) Pop-corn for my mind.

#5. Table games I just don't seem to play much anymore. But Pi Gow Poker, Carribean stud, BJ, let it ride. I think a lot of that is because it just doesn't seem like a fair shake on comps and too many loosing sessions lately.

OK......your turn....

Pretty easy for me as I only play (gamble) at two...Blackjack 95% of the time, mostly lower limit unless it's house money or I am on a streak...
Second is three reel slots, mostly IGT machines. I play those while waiting for my wife to go to supper or something? That is where I lose my blackjack winnings very often....

#1 Live Poker.. Always played poker when in vegas as far back as the early 70's. It sure is a different game now. Back then 7 card stud was the game of choice.

#2 Sometimes some Carribean stud or let it ride but just to kill time and never for big stakes. Haven't played blackjack for years now.

#3 Kinda like the video nickel games.

I know this will put me in the outhouse but never played video poker. Please forgive me. Maybe if Kes has a mini meet at Seneca I will try it with some guidance. smile

#1 Video poker - actually play more Double Double Bonus than Deuces Wild lately, usually because casinos keep messing with the Deuces pay tables.

#2 Penny video slots

#3 Caveman Keno

#4 I keep saying I want to start playing BlackJack again, but I usually forget to actually do it<g>.

Rukiding - we all have to share that outhouse in our own way. wink

A year or two ago i would have had to say mostly slots, occasionally dabbling in video poker. But thanks to the "bad" influence of some of the TV friends, Video poker has risen higher in my play time.

I do still feel sorta schizophrenic though. After I've been playing vp for a while, I start feeling like I should be playing slots. If I spend a lot of time on slots, I feel the call of the vp games!

I sure get lots more play time from vp though, so I will put that at the top.

#1 video poker, usually going back and forth between bonus poker (make the bankroll last a bit longer) deuces (for a little more excitement) and bonus deuces when i can find it. Usually play at quarter level. If I can find a mult-denomination machine and Im doing well, I might go up to 50c or dollar - max coin of course!

Sometimes do play multi hand nickel vp. And occasionally the "crack cocaine" of vp - multi-strike.

#2 Slots - mostly the 3 reel. I especially like slots with multipler symbols. I also find the 5 reel nickel machines fun, especially the old wheel of fortune. More addictive than the regular WOF! I will play the occasional penny video slot for entertainment value.

It's especially entertaining when you take away $80 from a $20 investment. laugh

That's it - I have not played Caveman Keno or regular keno, I've sat down at a blackjack table exactly once.

The above is enough to keep me busy!

Rukidding - come out of the outhouse! I'm sure somone (even me, such a beginner I am!) will be glad to play some instructional vp!

Lee - great topic!

#1 - Video Poker
a. Triple Play - have gotten ADDICTED to it. I usually play quarters but I had a very good 2006 and I'm gradually moving to dollars. Dollar triple play can eat a lot of your money in a hurry so I set my loss limits. If I hit that, it's back to quarters. I like Triple Play because most of my royals have come on these machines.
b. I used to play Double Bonus exclusively but I'm gradually moving toward DDB. I like these games because of the thrill you get when you get a quad and if you can get 4 Aces with the kicker on DDB, that's QUITE a thrill!

#2 - Reel Slots
a. Mostly Ten Times Pay machines. If you hit something with one or two 10x symbols, that usually means a meaty jackpot for you.
b. Wheel of Fortune - I always try to win a million or more when I visit Vegas and I have more luck on WOF machines than Megabucks. I like the bonus round.
c. Any other reel slot that has a fun bonus round. Family Feud is fun, so are a few of the Monopoly reel games. Blazing 7's is a nice diversion sometimes too.

#3 - Blackjack
a. I usually play Blackjack as a "time out" from VP or the slots. It's a slower game and I find it relaxing. I especially like it if I'm playing with friends so we can socialize and make fun of each other! It's also a good game to play if I've got some time to kill before a show. Blackjack is one of those games that I feel I don't get beat up too bad at.
b. I usually try to find a non-smoking table.
c. I usually try to find the lowest denomination table as possible. I've been practicing a lot in the last year and am pretty good with basic card strategy. I also think I've got a good money strategy method that works. I had quite a bit of good luck in the past year with Blackjack.

#4 - Craps.
a. I love the game of craps but it's one of those games where you can win a lot of money in a short period of time but you can also lose a lot in a short period of time.
b. I approach this game with caution. I like to play a lower demonination but I also like there to be a good number of people at the table. I usually stand and watch the table to see how the dice are doing. If points are being made, I'll buy in.
c. I usually attempt to play craps once per day but if the conditions aren't right, I move on.

#5 A few other games that I'll play if I get the itch.
a. Three Card Poker once in a while - but I find it a bit slow.
b. Video Slots - I have a hard time figuring these out. I'll only play if I want to experience a bonus round I read about.
c. Keno - Usually with Mom!
d. Let It Ride - Rarely - have never won at this game.

Video Poker. I'll start with 25 cent Bonus or Deuces. If I do well, I'll switch to the other when one starts to go sour. If it goes bad, I quit. If all goes well, I'll switch to dollars. If I start with a bad session, I'll switch to 5 cent or 10 cent DDB or DB poker. That stretches my bankroll, keeps me playing and gives me a chance for a big win.

I like Blackjack but refuse to play it since they screwed up the payout for a blackjack. The few full pay blackjack games are usually gimmicked through multiple decks.

I love craps. It takes a good sized bankroll to buy in for a long session. As a tourist, that wasn't a big problem. As a local, I'm less likely to start off with that big of an investment.

I'm always watching the live keno boards. I will sometimes buy 10-20 games if I am going to be in the casino a long time for other reasons. I never sit in a keno parlor and play a game at a time.

Mike's right, Lee this IS a great idea for a thread- been enjoying reading all the posts.

Rukidding, just let me know when you feel like making the drive and if my work schedule allows I'm always up for a day trip!

JMT - your vp strategy sounds alot like mine, i really look for a way to keep playing. When you write "gives me a chance for a big win" are you referring to when you're playing the dollars? Or when you play 5 or 10 cent DDB or DB poker?

Its also interesting to see that no one has mentioned roulette. I do not play it, though was was tempted for all of 5 seconds to give rapid roulette a try - taking one for the team, of course.

Both. If I get to the dollar level, I set aside a certain amount for a solid win. If I revert to nickles, it's either a big win or nothing.

I was playihg DDB quarters 2 nights ago and hit aces with kicker, but I had been on a roll all day. Then we went to the Aladdin/PH and broke my win streak.

First choices are:
Live poker: hi/lo Omaha
Three Card poker
Pai Gow Poker

If those aren't working or I can't get a seat at a table I want:

Bonus Deuces
Deuces wild
DDB
JOB

JMT, Sorry some of my bad luck must have worn off on ya that night.

Mike, I've been playing a lot of dollar lately, and when it goes bad.....it really goes bad! I have a problem stepping down from the dollars once I'm in for some cash. After all, Quarters arn't going to get you out of a big hole you just dug. So this trip....I just kept on digging! LOL Oh well, now I have a reason to go to work today! LOL

Lee - I know what you're saying - it's very hard to step down from dollars. But if I'm doing really badly, I set a loss-limit for myself and force myself to revert to quarters. With quarters, it's very hard to dig yourself out of a hole but you can get some of it back if you play DDB and happen to hit Aces with a Kicker or, of course, a Royal.

I'm at the Wynn Dot right now as I write this and haven't had too much luck gambling since I've been here. But I managed to hit Aces/Kicker plus 2s/Kicker on DDB quarters last night which help to take some of the pain away!
