I reside in LV most of the year with occasional and exended business trips to the West Coast. Just about every month I receive (via US mail) a postcard from some of the major, locals' casinos making an offer I can't refuse .......
So far most of these offers have come from the South Point, Silverton, and The Palms and each offer has been good enough to get me into the casino whenever one is received.
Here's what they have offered so far .......
South Point .... Free T-shirts, free beach towels and each week thereafter another "beach accessory" (such as a beach chair) that is needed for a day by the pool, martini glasses (one a week for four weeks), one champagne glass a week for four weeks and on that 4th and final week it comes with a big bottle of champaigne.
Silverton .... A free bucket of six chilled beers and 1/2 price finger food at the bar, half priced Margaritas, and 1/2 priced meals in any casino restaurant, and numerous cash awards ($100 and $1,000 each hour of the day if you are one of they lucky ones playing a slot with your card inserted correctly. And fancy plates and other stuff that locals often stand in a long line for.
The Palms ..... This casino seems to be offering the most and best promotions in town. Yesterday I got a free soda at movie theater and that was just the beginning. Two free pulls on the $11,000,000 slot machine won me $2 one afternoon and $30 the next. Then I received a card to check out how much "free money" I got the next time I sat down to play any slot machine in the house. I had to push those little buttons but it was easy once I followed the on screen directions and got $10 in free play for my efforts. And I've had a good number of 1/2 priced meals in the casino restaurants (not including the places higher upstairs) but I still don't like their buffet at all ... and, BELIEVE ME, I am not a fussy eater, but nothing really tastes good there and the only nice thing I can say about that buffet is that they have a pretty neat coffee machine if you're patient enough to let it work correctly. Yeserday I had an offer to enter a slot machine tournament with a chance to win a lot of money. Needless to say I was the low man on the totum pole and there was no cash award for last place losers. And every week you can stand in line and swipe your card and win some pretty decent things .... such as extra points on your card, free car wash, flashlights, tools, tape measures, gas, etc.
I'm not sure if LV visitors can use these promotions but it's definitely worth a try. Just stand in line and look like a local with your Player's Club card in hand and go for it!
